Tuesday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students completed an activity handout in which they had to make sentences to describe how people were feeling and at what time people do certain things. After the warm-up, the students worked on a dialogue with partners. They will present their dialogues tomorrow. Announcements: Quiz 4B will be on Tuesday, 2-7-12, Presentation 4B will be due on Thursday, 2-9-12 (Students will work on their presentations in class on Wednesday, 2-8-12), and the Chapter 4 test will be on Tuesday, 2-14-12.

Spanish II:

Warm-up: Students completed a cross-word puzzle in order to practice vocab and verb conjugations. For the rest of class, they wrote sentences using the conjugations of the 6 irregular verbs and drew pictures to represent their sentences. Homework: Finish your sentences and pictures. Announcements: The Quiz on the 6 irregular verbs will be tomorrow, 2-1-12. Students need to know the preterit tense of: ser, ir, tener, estar, poder, and hacer.

Monday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students completed a conjugation activity with the verb 'saber'. After the warm-up, we went over the time vocabulary. The students completed a notes packet as I went over the information using a power point. Download La hora pow pt handout / Download La Hora. Announcements: Quiz 4B will be on Tuesday, 2-7-12 and Presentation 4B will be due on Thursday, 2-9-12 (Students will work on their presentations in class on Wednesday, 2-8-12).

Spanish II:

Warm-up: Students translated sentences using the 6 irregular verbs and vocab 3A. After the warm-up, the students completed an interview activity in which they had to interview 12 different classmates using questions that included the 6 irregular verbs and vocab 3A. Homework: Finish your sentences from the interview activity. Announcements: The Quiz on the 6 irregular verbs will be on Wednesday, 2-1-12. Students need to know the preterit tense of: ser, ir, tener, estar, poder, and hacer.

Friday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students completed an activity from their work book in which they had to label pictures with the correct vocab words. After the warm-up, we did an oral activity in which the students talked about places that they would like to go. We went over the verb 'saber' and the conjugations for this verb. In order to practice using the verb, the students completed an interview activity in which they asked different classmates if they knew how to play certain sports mentioned in vocab 4B. After they finished interviewing their classmates, the students wrote complete sentences about the information they found out along with complete sentences stating the sports that they themselves know how to play. Homework: Finish your sentences on your activity handout. Announcements: Quiz 4B will be on Tuesday, 2-7-12 and Presentation 4B will be due on Thursday, 2-9-12 (Students will work on their presentations in class on Wednesday, 2-8-12).

Spanish II:

Warm-up: The students completed a conjugation activity from their workbooks using the 6 irregular verbs from 3A. After the warm-up, the students completed a 'dice' activity with partners in which they had to conjugate verbs, write complete sentences, and translate the sentences. Announcements: The Quiz on the 6 irregular verbs will be on Wednesday, 2-1-12. Students need to know the preterit tense of: ser, ir, tener, estar, poder, and hacer.

Thursday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students completed their vocab 4B handout. After the warm-up, we went over the quiz 4A from yesterday. For the rest of class, the students completed a reading activity and we went over it to check for comprehension. Announcements: Quiz 4B will be on Tuesday, 2-7-12 and Presentation 4B will be due on Thursday, 2-9-12 (Students will work on their presentations in class on Wednesday, 2-8-12).

Spanish II:

Today we went over the Irregular verbs activity handout from yesterday. For the rest of class, the students worked on a song activity in which they had to fill in the blanks to the lyrics of the song by using the vocab and grammar from 3A. They also translated the song. Homework: Finish translating the song. Announcements: The Quiz on the 6 irregular verbs will be on Wednesday, 2-1-12. Students need to know the preterit tense of: ser, ir, tener, estar, poder, and hacer.

 

Wednesday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students completed a review transparency for practice. After the warm-up, we played a review game and the students took quiz 4A.

Spanish II:

Warm-up: Students wrote the last 4 irregular verbs from 3A in their verb charts. In order to practice conjugating these verbs, they worked on an activity handout in which they had to conjugate and translate sentences. Announcements: The Quiz on the 6 irregular verbs will be on Wednesday, 2-1-12. Students need to know the preterit tense of: ser, ir, tener, estar, poder, and hacer.

Tuesday

Spanish I:

Today the students completed a review packet that they can use as a study guide for tomorrow's quiz. We went over the answers to the packet at the end of the period. Announcements: Quiz 4A will be tomorrow, 1-25-12. (Students need to know vocab 4A, the verb 'ir', and the question words).

Spanish II:

Today we went over the 3A Quiz from yesterday. After going over the quiz, we went over the preterit tense of the verbs 'ir' and 'ser' and the students completed an activity from the book for practice. For the rest of class, the students worked on an activity handout using both verbs for more practice. Announcements: The Quiz on the 6 irregular verbs will be on Wednesday, 2-1-12. Students need to know the preterit tense of: ser, ir, tener, estar, poder, and hacer.  

Monday

Spanish I:

Today we went over the answers the activity handout from Friday. After going over the handout, the students worked on an activity in which they had to make drawings of the places in vocab 4A and make sentences about when they go to these places and with whom they go to these places. Homework: Finish the 'Los lugares' activity. Announcements: Quiz 4A will be on Wednesday, 1-25-12.

Spanish II:

Today we went over the cross-word from Friday. After the going over the cross-word, we played a review game and after the game, the students took their Vocab 3A quiz.

Friday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students completed an activity in which they had fix sentences in order for the sentences to be grammatically correct. For the rest of class, the students completed an activity handout in order to practice the vocab and review the grammar points. Announcements: Quiz 4A will be on Wednesday, 1-25-12.

Spanish II:

Today we went over the answers to the translation handout from yesterday. We played a review game using white boards as a review for Monday's quiz. For the rest of class, the students worked on a cross-word for more practice. Homework: Finish the cross-word. Announcements: The vocab 3A/Extra vocab Quiz will be on Monday, 1-23-12.  

Thursday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students translated sentences using their question words and vocab. For more practice, the students completed an interview activity in which they had to come up with their own interview questions to ask a partner using the question words. Announcements: Quiz 4A will be on Wednesday, 1-25-12.

Spanish II:

Today the students completed some activity handouts in order to review the vocab and be ready for Monday's vocab quiz. They completed translations and a drawing and label handout. Homework: Finish your handouts if you did not finish in class. Announcements: The vocab 3A/Extra vocab Quiz will be on Monday, 1-23-12.

Wednesday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students completed a fill in the blank activity using the correct conjugations of the verb 'ir'. After the warm-up, we went over the answers to the 'ir' handout from yesterday. The students completed a practice handout using the correct forms of 'ir' and they also wrote down the meanings to the question words that we will be using. They completed a fill in the blank using the question words for practice. Announcements: Quiz 4A will be on Wednesday, 1-25-12.

Spanish II:

Warm-up: The students completed a fill in the blank activity handout using vocab 3A. After the warm-up, we went over the extra vocab and the pronunciation of the 3A vocab words. For practice, the students completed a handout in which they had to unscramble words from the vocab and find a secret phrase. Homework: Finish the 'unscramble' handout. Announcements: The vocab 3A/Extra vocab Quiz will be on Monday, 1-23-12.
