Friday

Spanish I:

Today the students had their Spanish I awards ceremony. Students nominated classmates for the awards.  Announcements: Quiz 6B will be on Tuesday, 5-3-11 and the 6B House Presentation will be due on Friday, 5-6-11. (Students will work on their presentations in class on Wednesday, 5-4-11. *We will have our cinco de mayo celebration next Thursday, 5-5-11.

Spanish II:

Today we went over the quiz 5A and after going over the quiz, the students had their Spanish II awards ceremony. Students nominated classmates for the awards. Announcements: *We will have our cinco de mayo celebration next Thursday, 5-5-11.

Thursday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students translated sentences using vocab 6B and the correct conjugations of present tense verbs. For the rest of class the students worked on a handout in which they had to write sentences stating who does the different chores at their house. Announcements: Quiz 6B will be on Tuesday, 5-3-11 and the 6B House Presentation will be due on Friday, 5-6-11. (Students will work on their presentations in class on Wednesday, 5-4-11. *We will have our cinco de mayo celebration next Thursday, 5-5-11.

Spanish II:

Warm-up: Students completed a review transparency as a review for the quiz. We played a review game and the students took the quiz. Announcements: *We will have our cinco de mayo celebration next Thursday, 5-5-11.

Wednesday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students completed a handout in which they had to write down which rooms were on the different floors of a house. After the warm-up, the students made flashcards with vocab 6B. Homework: Finish the flashcards. Announcements: Quiz 6B will be on Tuesday, 5-3-11 and the 6B House Presentation will be due on Friday, 5-6-11. (Students will work on their presentations in class on Wednesday, 5-4-11. *We will have our cinco de mayo celebration next Thursday, 5-5-11.

Spanish II:

Today the students completed a review handout as practice for their 5A quiz. Announcements: Vocab quiz 5A will be tomorrow, 4-28-11.  

Tuesday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students completed vocab 6B handout. After the warm-up, we finished the bedroom presentations. For the rest of class, we went over the new vocab and the students completed a reading activity which included the new vocab. Announcements: Quiz 6B will be on Tuesday, 5-3-11 and the 6B House Presentation will be due on Friday, 5-6-11. (Students will work on their presentations in class on Wednesday, 5-4-11. *We will have our cinco de mayo celebration next Thursday, 5-5-11.

Spanish II:

Today the students worked on a book work activity handout in order to review their vocab and be better prepared for the upcoming quiz. Announcements: Vocab quiz 5A will be on Thursday, 4-28-11.  

Monday

Spanish I:

Today the students presented their Room Presentations.

Spanish II:

Today we went over the activity packet from last Thursday and for the rest of class, the students worked on a comic strip activity in which they had to write a story to go with the pictures. Homework: Finish your comic strip activity. Announcements: Vocab quiz 5A will be on Thursday, 4-28-11.   

Friday

Spanish I:

Today we went over the quiz from yesterday and then the students worked on their Room presentations for the rest of class. Announcements: The bedroom presentation will be due on Monday, 4-25-11.

Spanish II:

Today 4th period went to the 'Invisible Children' presentation in the theater and 5th period watched a movie and worked on their packet. Homework: Finish your 5A packet. Announcements: Vocab quiz 5A will be on Thursday, 4-28-11.   

Thursday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: The students completed a review transparency with activities. After the warm-up, the students played a review game and then took the quiz. Announcements: The bedroom presentation will be due on Monday, 4-25-11. Students will work on their presentations in class tomorrow, 4-22-11.

Spanish II:

Today the students worked on a review packet in order to review chapter 5A. Homework: Finish packet 5A. Announcements: Vocab quiz 5A will be on Thursday, 4-28-11.   

Wednesday

Spanish I:

Today the students worked on their 6A review packet. We went over the answers at the end of class. Announcements: Quiz 6A will be tomorrow, 4-21-11. (Make sure you study vocab 6A, comparisons/contrasts, and the verbs 'dormir' and 'poder'. The bedroom presentation will be due on Monday, 4-25-11. Students will work on their presentations in class on Friday, 4-22-11.

Spanish II:

Today the students worked on an activity handout ('El incendio') in which they had to put a story in the correct chronological order, translate it, and draw pictures to represent what happened in the story. For the rest of class, the students reviewed their vocab using the vocab cards that they made in class yesterday. Announcements: Vocab quiz 5A will be on Thursday, 4-28-11.   

Tuesday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students completed an activity from their text book using the conjugations of the verb 'dormir'. After the warm-up, we went over the 'dormir' / 'poder' activity handout from yesterday. After going over the handout, the students completed an interview activity in which they had to interview 12 different classmates using questions with 'dormir' and 'poder'. The students had to write complete sentences using the responses they received from their classmates. Announcements: Quiz 6A will be on Thursday, 4-21-11. (Make sure you study vocab 6A, comparisons/contrasts, and the verbs 'dormir' and 'poder'. The bedroom presentation will be due on Monday, 4-25-11. Students will work on their presentations in class on Friday, 4-22-11.

Spanish II:

Today the students made flashcards with vocab 5A. These flashcards will be very helpful and should be used to study the vocab. Homework: Finish the vocab 5A flashcards. Announcements: Vocab quiz 5A will be on Thursday, 4-28-11.  

Monday

Spanish I:

Warm-up: Students completed a handout in order to practice making sentences using 'more...' and 'less...' and they also completed a cross-word with vocab 6A. After the warm-up, the students worked on an activity handout using the verbs 'poder' and 'dormir'. Homework: Finish the verb handout. Announcements: Quiz 6A will be on Thursday, 4-21-11. (Make sure you study vocab 6A, comparisons/contrasts, and the verbs 'dormir' and 'poder'. The bedroom presentation will be due on Monday, 4-25-11. Students will work on their presentations in class on Friday, 4-22-11.

Spanish II:

Warm-up: Students completed an activity sheet using the extra vocab that we went over on Friday. After the warm-up, the students completed a fill in activity from the text book in order to practice vocab 5A. For the rest of class, the students listened to a song that uses vocab 5A and they completed a fill in the blank activity using the lyrics. Announcements: Vocab quiz 5A will be on Thursday, 4-28-11.
