Thursday

Spanish I:

Today we went over the Chapter 5 test from yesterday. After going over the test, the students started watching the movie 'Selena'. The students will continue watching the movie tomorrow. The students also received an activity handout that they will complete while watching the movie. They will be comparing Hispanic families to American families and describing the family members in Spanish. Announcements:  * The winners of the family class banner contest will have their party tomorrow, 4-1-11. The class with the highest presentation average and best class banner will win!!! The winner will be announced this afternoon!!!

Spanish II:

Warm-up: Students completed a conjugation activity as a review for the quiz and they played a review game and took the quiz. Announcements: Chapter 4 test will be on Wednesday, 4-13-11. Students will complete their study guides on Tuesday, 4-12-11.

Wednesday

Spanish I:

Today the students took their Spanish 5 test. Announcements:  * The winners of the family class banner contest will have their party this Friday, 4-1-11. The class with the highest presentation average and best class banner will win!!! The winner will be announced tomorrow afternoon!!!

Spanish II:

Today we went over the answers to the handout that the students finished for homework yesterday. After going over the handout, the students completed a 4B review handout and we went over the answers.  Announcements: Quiz 4B will be tomorrow, 3-31-11. (Students need to study vocab 4B, and imperfect v. preterit).

 

Tuesday

Spanish I:

Today the students completed their Chapter 5 study guides and we went over the answers. Announcements: The chapter 5 test will be tomorrow, 3-30-11.  * The winners of the family class banner contest will have their party on Friday, 4-1-11. The class with the highest presentation average and best class banner will win!!! 

Spanish II:

Warm-up: Students completed a conjugation activity from their text book using the preterit and imperfect. After going over the answers to the warm-up, the students worked on an activity handout in order to review and to practice using the vocab, the preterit, and the imperfect. Homework: Finish the activity handout. Announcements: Quiz 4B will be on Thursday, 3-31-11. (Students need to study vocab 4B, and imperfect v. preterit).

Monday

Spanish I:

Today we finished presentations and as a class, the students put their banners together and hung them up. Announcements: The chapter 5 test will be on Wednesday, 3-30-11 (Students will work on study guides in class tomorrow, 3-29-11). * The winners of the family class banner contest will have their party on Friday, 4-1-11. The class with the highest presentation average and best class banner will win!!! 

Spanish II:

Today the students worked on a writing activity in which they had to write 2 paragraphs using the preterit and the imperfect tense along with vocab 4B. They also had to draw a picture about their childhood to represent their paragraphs. Announcements: Quiz 4B will be on Thursday, 3-31-11. (Students need to study vocab 4B, and imperfect v. preterit).

Friday

Spanish I:

Today the students presented their family banners. We will finish presentations on Monday. Announcements: The chapter 5 test will be on Wednesday, 3-30-11 (Students will work on study guides in class on Tuesday, 3-29-11). * The students will be competing with the other Spanish I classes for a party. The winners will have their party on Friday, 4-1-11. The class with the highest presentation average and best class banner will win!!! 

Spanish II:

Today we went over the reflexive/imperfect chart handout that the students completed yesterday. After going over the handout, I went over the difference between the imperfect tense and the preterit tense. The students completed an activity handout for practice and we went over the answers. Announcements: Quiz 4B will be on Thursday, 3-31-11. (Students need to study vocab 4B, and imperfect v. preterit).

Thursday

Spanish I:

Today the students worked on their family presentations the entire class period. Announcements: The family banner presentation will be due tomorrow, 3-25-11. The chapter 5 test will be on Wednesday, 3-30-11 (Students will work on study guides in class on Tuesday, 3-29-11). * The students will be competing with the other Spanish I classes for a party. The winners will have their party on Friday, 4-1-11. The class with the highest presentation average and best class banner will win!!! 

Spanish II:

Today we went over the answers to the present/preterit handout from yesterday. Download Presente y preterito handout. After going over all of the answers, we practiced using reflexives with the imperfect tense. The students worked on a handout which included charts and sentences for practice. Announcements: Quiz 4B will be on Thursday, 3-31-11. (Students need to study vocab 4B, and imperfect v. preterit).

Wednesday

Spanish I:

Today we went over the chapter 5B quiz that the students took yesterday. After going over the quiz, the students received their Family banner presentation handout with instructions and rubric and I went over it and showed some examples. They had the rest of class to work on their presentation. Download Mi Familia Presentation * The students will be competing with the other Spanish I classes for a party. The winners will have their party on Friday, 4-1-11. The class with the highest presentation average and best class banner will win!!!  Announcements: The family banner presentation will be due on Friday, 3-25-11. Students will continue to work on this presentation in class tomorrow, 3-24-11. The chapter 5 test will be on Wednesday, 3-30-11 (Students will work on study guides in class on Tuesday, 3-29-11).

Spanish II:

Today we went over the imperfect quiz that the students took on Monday. After going over the quiz, the students worked on a vocab/conjugation/sentences review handout using their vocab 4B sheet from yesterday. Announcements: Quiz 4B will be on Thursday, 3-31-11. (Students need to study vocab 4B, and imperfect v. preterit).

Monday

Spanish I:

Today students completed a review packet as a study guide for the quiz. We went over all the answers at the end of class. Announcements: Quiz 5B will be tomorrow, 3-22-11 (Students need to study vocab 5B, and the verbs 'traer', 'venir', 'ser', and 'estar') and the family banner presentation will be due on Friday, 3-25-11. Students will work on this presentation in class on Wednesday, 3-23-11 and Thursday, 3-24-11.

Spanish II:

Warm-up: Students completed a review conjugation sheet as a review for the quiz. We went over the answers and the students took their conjugation quiz.

Friday

Spanish I:

Today students worked on an activity handout in which they had to complete a cross-word and a fill in the blank activity usingthe correct conjugations of 'ser' and 'estar. We went over the answers at the end of class.  Announcements: Quiz 5B will be on Tuesday, 3-22-11 (Students need to study vocab 5B, and the verbs 'traer', 'venir', 'ser', and 'estar') and the family banner presentation will be due on Friday, 3-25-11. Students will work on this presentation in class on Wednesday, 3-23-11 and Thursday, 3-24-11.

Spanish II:

Today the students finished presenting their Imperfect Projects. Announcements: The imperfect quiz will be on Monday, 3-21-11. (Make sure that you study your imperfect packet)
