ALL Classes: Reviewed notes from section of history book--The Early Republic (this would be a heading under The Roman Republic). Students were given class time yesterday to practice the skill of outlining and to ask questions if they had difficulty. We have been working on this skill--outlining as note taking--since Monday/Tuesday; unfortunately, some students have decided not to pay attention in class, and this is a difficult skill to learn in one day.
Today, we took a Test, an assessment, based on the skill of outlining--students had to read a section of their history book--that they would have had to read on Monday, the 26th, for homework, so this was a section they had seen once before. Based on this section, students filled in an outline I had created based on the selection.
Tomorrow we will work on standard based assessment questions in our workbook and begin reading from two sources--a primary source and a secondary source.
Students from 1st and 7th periods can turn in their revision of "The Kids are Not Okay" tomorrow as well. They were due today, but I will accept them up until tomorrow.
If you print this out tomorrow--just this blog page--black and white is fine--you can get a "treat" out of the "Spongebob head" in my classroom--and you can eat it in class too!!!
