Get ready.  Today is PT day.  We will do the "daily seven" exercises and formation running.  Bring running shoes.

The Big Picture (6 Nov 08)

The NJROTC unit photo will be taken on Thursday, 6 Nov.  Cadets will wear summer uniform (white shirt and black pants).  Haircuts are to be regulations.  Photos will began at 8:45 in the NJROTC classroom.

Make up tests for Navy Core Values and Human Growth will be given during class.

Wednesday, 29 Oct

Lecture:  Navy Core Values continues.  Actions that distract from the Navy Core Values.

Drill team practice cancelled for the entire week.

Rifle team will practice Tues-Thur.  Sporter rifle team will compete in first postal match.

Kell class will take yearbook photos on Thursday.  Be in uniform and look sharp.

Unit photo will be taken Thursday, 6 Nov.  Mark your calendar or blackberry.

Friday, 12 Sep

Unless exempted due to medical/illness, all cadets will participate in our weekly session.  This weeks concentration will center on sprints.   Proper PT gear is required.

Final rifle team roster will be posted by end of school day.

Last day to turn in recipes for the unit cookbook.

Have a great weekend, and remember we drill on Monday.  No flip-flops.

PATRIOT DAY

In rememberance of the events ocurring on 11 Sep 2001, the cadets are participating in rememberance ceremonies at Pope and Sprayberry.

Today, is the weekly uniform inspection.

Tuesday, 26 August 2008

NS1 (first year) cadets will began study of eleven General Orders.

NS2/3 cadets are to finish all uniform issue

NS4 cadets will work on unit supply and administration

All cadets wishing to tryout for varsity rifle team and NJROTC rifle team must attend weapon and range safety training on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Failure to attend will result in disqualification for team.

Cadet are to began bringing in their recipes for the unit cook book.  All recipes due by 5 Sep.

 

UNIFORM ISSUE

Cadets will be issued uniforms on Thursday and Friday.  Uniforms will be worn on Thursday, 28 Aug.  All male cadets are to have regulation hair cuts by Monday, 25 Aug.

Welcome Back, Cadets

I hope all of our new and returning cadets have had a great summer.  1stSgt Cox and I are ready to get started.  I anticipate over 120 students from Lassiter, Pope, Kell, and Sprayberry have joined the unit this year.  There will be no team practice/try outs during the first week of school.  Drill team and color guard practice/try outs will began Monday, 18 August at Lassiter.   Students interested in joining the rifle team will meet on Monday, 25 August at Lassiter.  The Cobb County School District will provide transportation to Lassiter for all after school NJROTC activites.

The annual NJROTC unit picnic will be held at the Navy Lake Site at Lake Allatoona on Saturday, 23 August from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Parents and cadets are encouraged to visit the unit website (www.lassiternjrotc.com) for the 2008/2009 calendar and other useful information.

Week 22/26 October

Monday, 22 Oct:  Cadets will demonstrate reporting procedures.

Tuesday, 23 Oct:  Are you lost?  Pay attention and you won't be.  With the help of the GA Army National Guard (SGT Marc Masoner), cadets will recieve land navigation lecture and hands on demonstrations.

Wednesday, 24 Oct:  Continue land navigation lecture and demonstrations.

Thursday, 25 Oct:  Uniform/personnel inspection

Friday, 26 Oct:  Physical fitness.

Week 15/19 October

Monday, 15 Oct:  Cadets will conduct platoon drill.  Cadets will reveiw for weekly test.

Tuesday, 16 Oct:  First and second year cadets will test on Naval and Marine Corps terminology.  Junior cadets will discuss career planning with CAPT Wilkerson.  Senior cadets will aid with test monitoring and continue unit administration.

Wednesday, 17 Oct:  PSAT for freshmen and sophmore cadets.  Review session.study hall.  Early release day.

Thursday, 18 Oct:  Personnel / uniform inspection.

Friday, 19 Oct:  Unit physical fitness.
