Today in class we reviewed stating domain and range of a function using interval notation. Then you completed a task that was an exploration of quadratic functions. If you did not complete this in class, it is homework for tonight. Bring the completed task to class tomorrow.

Today in class we completed the Functions with Fiona learning task. You also simplified your math life by learning interval notation:)  Here is the worksheet we did over domain and range. Remember, write your answers in interval notation now that you know how!

This week August 22-26

Monday you took a quiz over functions and lines. Those are graded and we will go over them tomorrow in class.

Tuesday you will explore quadratic functions with a learning task, Functions with Fiona part 4.

Wednesday you will continue to explore quadratic function and complete the learning task part 5. We will also discuss interval notation.

Thursday we will discuss domain/range, maximum/minimum, end behavior, zeros, and intercepts as they relate to linear and quadratic functions and do an in-class activity to practice these new concepts.

Friday we wil review quadratic functions and discuss intervals of increase and decrease. You will have a worksheet for classwork/homework.

August 17th - 19th

Wednesday:  You worked on finding domain and range of functions given in table, mapping, chart, or graph form. We paid special attention to domain and range of continuous functions. Homework was the 2-page worksheets.

Thursday: You worked on finding slope and writing equations of lines given various pieces of information. Homework was a green worksheet.

Friday: You reviewed functions and linear functions. There is a quiz on Monday, so be sure to look over your worksheets this weekend!

In class Tuesday, August 16th

Today you completed parts 1, 2, and 3 of the Functions with Fiona learning task. We discussed the following concepts:  discrete vs. continuous functions, independent vs. dependent variables, function notation, domain and range of a function, various ways to represent functions, and the vertical line test. If we did not cover all of this, we will tomorrow. You also received your Math I textbook.

WELCOME Accelerated Math I Students!!

Welcome to Lassiter and to my Accelerated Math I class. I am so glad to be your teacher this year and look forward to facilitating your learning. We will cover all of the Math I topcis as well as three of the Math II topics this year. Be sure to read the syllabus for the course and sign the back to acknowledge that you and your parent/guardian understand the course policies. Let's work hard to make this a productive year of learning!
