The Atlanta High School Art Exhibit Winners

Out of over 500 entries, only 88 student works were chosen to be displayed at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival April 15-17 at Piedmont Park. All three students are from Lassiter's AP Studio Art Program!

Mermaid/ Merman

MERMAID/ MERMAN
A Mixed Media Activity for Drawing & Painting

 

Students will cut out shape of mermaid or merman on cardstock. Next, students will alter and collage an expression by adding 3-dimensional aspects. Doing this will enhance the image.

-----> Think about adding wire/beads/text/found objects etc.

Students will then incorporate their mermaid in a canvas collage/drawing/painting.

Road Trip

Road Trip
A Drawing & Painting Lesson by Ms. Kaitlin Jezequel

 

What does the phrase "road trip" make you think of? A family vacation, a summer you'll never forget, friendship, loud music, memories? Or does it mean something deeper, perhaps a daydream that takes you to a different world, your world, your imagination. Using your imagination, you will create a mixed media piece that incorporates road maps in a unique way.

Mixed media in artwork means that more than one art medium is used in the creation of the final piece. Artists throughout art history, such as Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Marcel Duchamp, and Robert Rauschenberg have used mixed media to create more effective artwork.
