Now that folks have started thinking about school starting in three weeks, students may be wondering about what calculator they will need for class. Much of what we'll be doing in both Accelerated Math 2 and AP Calculus BC can and will be done using technology. I will be using a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition graphing calculator primarily in class, with a TI-Nspire used occasionally. Students can use any graphing calculator, and the school has a limited number of TI-82's available to be checked out to students. With "Back to School" sales going on, I've seen TI-84 Plus Silver Edition calculators available for less than $100 ($95 currently at Target and Walmart), while TI-Nspires run around $135. But be on the look out for sales over the next month or so -- you'll probably be able to find them for even less!
