9th Lit/Comp

1st, 2nd, and 5th with Mrs. Roth - This week the class is revisiting the hero's journey with It's a Wonderful Life.  Students must find examples of the following:

Call to Separation

Threshold

Challenge

Abyss

Transformation

Revelation

Atonement

Return

This assignment is being completed in class and the students are discussing the steps of the hero's journey. We will finish the film tomorrow and the assignment is due at the beginning of class on Friday.

9th Lit/Comp -

Watch for an assessment over the epic poem, Odyssey, next week.

Vocabulary Lesson 7 wwill be introduced next week, quiz will be on Thursday, not Friday.   Just in case you want to get a head start, the vocabulary practice is on Mrs. Roth's blog.

10th Lit/Comp -

Watch for a short essay assignment to be given next week for Night.  The assignment will begin in the computer lab at school, but students will need to work on it at home , as well.  Vocab Lesson 7 will be introduced next week; however the vocabulary practice is already available on Mrs. Roth's blog/blackboard if youwish to get a head start on your week ahead.

9th Lit/Comp with Mr. Thompson

The class is continuing to work on their mythology unit.  Look for a mythology test as soon as next Wednesday, November 16. 

Soon, we will begin reading Odyssey, an epic poem.

Our next vocabulary unit will be assigned after the Thanksgiving Break.

ANNOUNCEMENTS - - - - -9th Literature/Composition Classes

Mrs. Roth's classes - Periods 1, 2, and 5

We have plans to finish with the Odyssey by the end of the week or the beginning of next week.  The assessment for this epic poem will be a multiple choice test next Wednesday, November 16.

The last vocab lesson (Lesson 7) will be handed out on Monday.  There will be an activity in class and the students will hand in the vocabulary assignment at the end of the class.  The quiz for this lesson will be Thursday, November 17.

Mr. Thompson's class - 7th period

There will be a test on mythology on Wednesday, November 16.  Mr. Thompson will be posting a study guide on his blog by Monday.

Mrs. Roth's 9th Literature Assignment Periods 1, 2, and 5

Student's received an assignment for homework, if they did not complete the assignment at school.  There is a worksheet that can be printed off from Mrs. Roth's blog if another one is needed.  The assignment is due Wednesday when students return to school.  Tomorrow is a teacher workday !  Sleep late guys and enjoy your day. 

If you have any questions about the assignment, you can see me before 7:30, Wednesday morning in Room #309 (math hall).  I have a meeting at 7:45am and will not be available.
