NEWSFLASH FOR 1ST PERIOD !!!

The Odyssey test has been moved to Friday, April 1!  The study guide has also been extended to Friday, as well.  (NO FOOLING, Tee hee)!!!

10th Lit/Comp with Mrs. Kirk (2nd and 3rd periods)

Be sure to continue reading through Chapter 10 in Hunger Games.  We will have a comprehension check on Monday, March 28 in order to make sure the students are reading.  The entire book she be completed by the time we return from Spring Break !!!  Be ready for a quiz and or test upon retuning to class.

9th Lit/Comp..... Week of March 28 - April 31

1st period with Mr. Thompson

    The class will be having the test over The Odyssey next week.  Study guides will be available at the beginning of next week. 

5th period with Mrs. Roth

    We have begun our study of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.  Today, Friday, March 25, the class divided in groups and preformed the prologue and news announcers !!!  What fun !!!  Next week, we will begin reading Act I.  After each scene within each act, students will be expected to complete comprehension packages regarding the drama.  In addition, the students will receive Vocab Lesson 12.  The vocab quiz will be Friday, April 1.

7th period with Mrs. Crandall

    Our students have just completed Homer's epic, The Odyssey.  They have really enjoyed the "postcard project" and the classroom discussions.  We will be concluding the EPIC UNIT with a major assessment next week.

1st Period (9th Lit/Comp) with Mr. Thompson

Don't forget that tomorrow, Thursday, March 25, there will be a grammar quiz.

Look for the test over The Odyssey next Wednesday, March 30.  A study guide will be posted to the blog the beginning of next week.  Watch for it !!!

When we return from spring break, we will begin with the next Vocab Lesson and Shakespeare's, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.

Mr. Thompson's 1st period 9th Lit/Comp

Be prepared for the grammar quiz on Friday, March 25.  You will be able to use the packet that we use daily to practice grammar; however, looking over previous notes will certainly help to better prepare you.

Keep reading The Hunger Games through chapter 10 by Monday.

1st period with Mr. Thompson - Vocabulary quiz is tomorrow

5th period with Mrs. Roth - Today, we began our study of Romeo and Juliet.

7th period with Mrs. Crandall - Postcards for the last two islands are due Thursday.

10th Lit/Comp for the Week of March 21 - 25

Read through Chapter 10 by next Monday in The Hunger Games.  Watch for minor assignments coming your way really soon !!!

9th Literature/Composition

1st period with Mr. Thompson - Projects are due tomorrow, Friday, March 18.  The vocab quiz will be Wednesday or Friday of next week.

5th period with Mrs. Roth - Vocab packets are due tomorrow.  We are also having the Vocab quiz tomorrow.  Finally, The Odyssey project (MAJOR GRADE) is due Monday, March 21.  Beginning this week, late minor assignments will not be accepted unless you are absent.  The assignment will be due the day you return to class, providing that the student was in class on the day the assignment was given.  School policy regarding make up tests and quizzs will be enforced; please reread the policy in your student handbook.

7th period with Mrs. Crandall - Please check Mrs. Crandall's blog in regards to the Vocab quiz date, it just might be tomorrow or could be sometime next week.  Also, be sure to have your 4 postcards completed and in class on Monday.  Remember, you must complete a postcard to Odysseus' wife, Penelope, from Odysseus for the following islands:  Lotus Eaters, Cyclops, Land of the Dead, and the Sirens by Monday, March 21.  You have had plenty of time in class to get a good start on the assignment, so be sure to turn the assignment in on time.

The vocab quiz is Friday and all vocab assignments are due Friday too!
