9th Lit/Comp for the Week of January 30 - February 3

Mrs. Roth's class - 1st, 2nd, and 5th periods

Vocab 9 - Assignment is due Friday, February 3 at the beginning of class.  Vocab 9 quiz is planned for Friday, February 3.  This quiz will also cover Lessons 1 - 9 (95 words).

Wednesday, February 1 - Poetry Analysis is due.

Tuesday, February 7 - Shakespeare Scavenger Hunt is due.  This assignment can be found on Mrs. Roth's blog/blackboard.

Mr. Thompson's class - 7th period

Poetry Analysis Papers are due today.

Vocab 9 - The vocabulary assignment for vocab 9 can be found on Mr. Thompson's blog.  Vocaqb 9 assignment is due Wednesday, February 1.  The quiz that covers lessons 1 - 9 (95 words) is Friday, February 3.

 

 

10th Lit/Comp for the Weekend of January 28-29

Complete the assignment we began in class today, "the first challenge."  See Mrs. Roth's blog/blackboard if you need another copy of the assignment.

9th Literature/Composition - for the weekend of January 28 - 29 and Monday, January 30 - Wednesday February 1

All 9th Lit/Comp classes have been conductihng research in order to effectively write a poem analysis.  Mr. Thompsnon's 7th  period class must turn in the assignment on Monday, January 30.  Mrs. Roth's classes must have the assignment completed by Wednesday, February 1.

Look for a new vocabulary lesson to be given out on Monday.  This lesson will be #9.  The quiz is planned for Friday, February 3.  Lesson #9 will be posted to Mrs. Roth's blog/blackboard on Monday.

9th Lit/Comp - 1st MAJOR ASSIGNMENT ! ! !

1st, 2nd, and 5th Periods with Mrs. Roth

Today, students received their first major assignment, completing a poem analysis.  The assignment is due Wednesday, February 1.  Hardcopies of the assignment and rubric were given out in class.  The assignment and ALL handouts are also posted to Mrs. Roth's blog/blackboard. 

7th Period with Mr Thompson

Students received their ooetry analysis assignment last week.  The assignment is due Monday, January 30 at the beginnning of class.

AS ALWAYS, BE SURE TO CHECK TEACHER BLOGS DAILY.

 

 

9th and 10th Literature/Composition with Mrs. Roth, January 23

1st,2nd, and 5th Periods- Today, we read The Seven Ages of Man.  Students were given a choice of 1 of 3 assignments to complete for homework.  As always, the assignment is on Mrs. Roth's Blog/Blackboard.  If you do not have access to the blackboard yet, hopefully, you picked up your hard copy of the homework assignment today in class. If you choose option #1, remember to write your answers in complete sentences.   Mrs. Roth reminded all students of the homework assignment before class dismissed.

3rd Period - Yippee !!!  No homework tonight !!!!!

For the Weekend of January 21 and 22

9th Literature/Composition - 1st, 2nd, and 5th Periods with Mrs. Roth

       Students are to write their own Haiku on plain white paper and draw a neat and colorful representation of their Haiku.  The assignment is due Monday, January 23, 2012.

9th Literature/Composition - 7th Period with Mr.Thompson

       Yesterday, Mr. Thompson assigned a poetry research project.  Be sure to check his blog for any questions you may have.  Be sure to keep up with project due dates.

 

10th Literature/Composition - 3rd Period with Mrs. Roth

       Finish reading Chapter 5, The Hunger Games

9th Lit/Comp for Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Periods 1, 2, and 5 - Today, we began discussing the poem, Oranges, by Gary Soto.  Students chose groups divided tasks for each member of the group to accomplish tonight for homework.  The assignment is on Mrs. Roth's blog too.  Questions should always be answered in complete sentences.

Don't forget that the vocab assignment is due Friday and we will have a quiz over Lessons 1 - 8 on Friday, as well.

Period 7 - Vocabulary Packet is due on Wednesday, January 18.  There will be a vocabulary quiz on Friday, January 20.

Today, we began our study of The Hunger Games with an easy research investigation for background information regarding the book.  If the assignment was not finished in class, you must complete the research at thome this weekend and bring in the assignment on Tuesday.
