British Literature Honors Week of February 28

As discussed in class, read the first 4 letters in Frankenstein, and complete the handouts received in class. This novel was given out in class for those students that asked for a copy.

This assignment is due Tuesday, March 1, 2011.  You may want to take additional notes as you read.  We will have a quiz over this material later in the week.

 EXTRA CREDIT:

Wanted Romantic Period Poets! As explained in class, write a substantial poem in the romantic style and receive extra points which will be added to a major grade.  The poem will be submitted to Arete and the Cobb County Writing Fair - due March 1, 2011.  Poem must be typed.

Monday - P.2 of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner assignment is due.  We will watch a dvd about the poem and complete study notes in class.

Tuesday - p.3 of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner is due. We will revisit our poetry projects from last week.

Wednesday - In class writing using your notes, handouts, and textbook.  Reflection on the theme of your group's poem and the poet's use of literary devices. Also, reflection on another poem presented in class last week.

Thursday - Poetry Review for test - Rime of the Ancient Mariner

Friday - Test over Rime of the Ancient Mariner; start Frankenstein assignment.

Frankenstein - read pages that cover the first 4 letters; complete assignment given in class.

Monday - Paper revisions are due; you must turn in all the original papers and rubrics and the new MLA typed paper. We reviewed the historical context of the Romantic period - the textbook reading and handout were assigned last week.

Tuesday -Work on group projects;  Review tests and Word Masters if time allows.

Wednesday - final day to work on presentation and project
