Math 3
Hand back quiz on determinants, inverses, and finding the area of a triangle. Students will be given a worksheet on finding the equation of a parabola, given 3 points. They can solve the equation using Cramers Rule, inverses, or RREF Test over matrices on Tuesday, September 6 The students were given a review sheet to study for the test.
Standards for the matrix test
MM3A4
Students will perform basic operations with matrices.
Element: MM3A4.a.
Add, subtract, multiply, and invert matrices, when possible, choosing appropriate methods, including technology.
Element: MM3A4.b.
Find the inverses of two-by-two matrices using pencil and paper, and find inverses of larger matrices using technology.
Element: MM3A4.c.
Examine the properties of matrices, contrasting them with properties of real numbers.
MM3A5
Students will use matrices to formulate and solve problems.
Element: MM3A5.a.
Represent a system of linear equations as a matrix equation.
Element: MM3A5.b.
Solve matrix equations using inverse matrices.
Calculus: the Students will be given a quiz over discontinuities and will be given a test over limits on Tuesday, Sept 6
M.CALC.1.1 Limits: Evaluate
The learner will be able to evaluate the limits of a function algebraically and apply the properties of limits, including one-sided limits.
M.CALC.1.13 Limits: Infinity
The learner will be able to describe asymptotic behavior in terms of limits involving infinity.
M.CALC.4.1 Limits: Approximate/Graphs/
The learner will be able to estimate limits from graphs or tables of data. Estimate graphs from limits.
