Math 3  More problems on binomial distribution.  some problems deal with unethical situations and hopefully students will realize that what is done is wrong.

Calculus:  On line practic AP test.

Lesson for Thursday, April 28

Math 3   Finish the task on binomial probability distribution.  Friday we will start normal distributions.

Calculus:  Continue with explanation of AP questions from the practice test.

Lesson for Wednesday, April 28

Math 3,  The students have learned how to use their graphing calculator to find binomial probabilities, cummlative binomial probabilites and how to draw a histogram on the calculator.  the students were given a task on binomial probability and will complete this on Thursday.  Friday we will begin normal distribution.

Calculus:  We will go over the AP test that was given two days ago and emphasize points that need some clarification.

Lesson for Tuesday, April 26

Math 3, the assignment is the same as Tuesday, from the book page 215 problems 1,2,5-16 all and page 216 problems 1-18 all however the student will use the calculator to answer the questions. 

Calculus;  continue with AP practice exam.

Math 3  Continue with binomial distribution from the book.  pages 215 problems 1,2,5-16 all and page 216 problems 1-18 all

Calculus:  The students will be given a Practice AP exam, non calculator multiple choice, calculator multiple choice and free response both calculator and non calculator.  they were also given the answers to check after completion.  this will be a two day process.

Lesson For Friday, April 22

Math 3   We will start our final unit on statistics and looking at binomial and normal distribution.  The student will be able to calculate both by hand and also with a calculator.  we will look at binomial distribution and expanding a binomial by hand and also the use of a calculator.  the homework is out of the workbook pages 238-242 and page 243 problems 1-17 all.   this is a continuation of Thursday's material

Lesson for Thursday, April 21

Math 3   We will start our final unit on statistics and looking at binomial and normal distribution.  The student will be able to calculate both by hand and also with a calculator.  we will look at binomial distribution and expanding a binomial by hand and also the use of a calculator.  the homework is out of the workbook pages 238-242 and page 243 problems 1-17 all.

Lesson For Wednesday, April 20

Math 3  Finish the task on the patterns of comets that take the shape of a conic.  the students were given 3 real world comets that exist and each one takes on a different conic for its orbit.  The students spent 3 days on the task.

Calculus:  Continue to work AP questions.

Lesson for Tuesday, April 19

Math 3  the students will work on the task involving comets,  I will give some hints on how to solve the particular problem if the students are having difficulty with them. 

Calculus:  Students will finish making test corrections and if they finish then they will work on more AP type problems.

Lesson for Monday, April 18

Math 3   Students were given a task on conics.  the task included the paths of certain comets.  From the information given, the students were to write the equation of the particular comet and then solve a problem associated with the comet.  the comets had a parabolic curve, elliptical orbit and/or a hyperbolic curve.

Calculus:  Students were given back the test on areas and volumes and are to make test corrections, stating why the missed the question and give the correct solution.
