Lesson for Friday, April 1

Math 3 Quiz over solving systems of equations of quadratic form.  5 questions of which one will be solve by graphing and the others will be solved by either elimination or substitution.

Calculus:  Finish test and start reviewing for the AP exam. 

Lesson for Thursday, March 31

Math 3 Continue to solve quadratic systems of equations by using substitution, elimination and the graphing calculator.  Problems for the review for the quiz on Friday are on page 229 in the workbook problems 14-20 all

Calculus:  Test over finding areas between two curves, rotating volumes and using the disk method and the washer method and finding the volumes of cross sections

Math 3 Continue to sove quadratic systems of equations.  Work book page 225-228 all pages   quiz Friday over solving quadratic systems of equations.

Calculus:  Continue to work on the worksheets over rotating volumes using the washer method and disc method.  Test thursday over finding areas between two curves, rotating volumes and finding volumes by cross sections.

Math 3 Continue to sove quadratic systems of equations.  Work book page 225-228 all pages   quiz Friday over solving quadratic systems of equations.

Calculus:  Continue to work on the worksheets over rotating volumes using the washer method and disc method.  Test thursday over finding areas between two curves, rotating volumes and finding volumes by cross sections.

Lesson for Tuesday, March 29

Math 3   Continue with solving systems of equations giving quadratic functions as the equations.  We will look at using the graphing calculator to solve the problems.   Homework is on page 203 problems 1-20. 

Calculus:  Continue with finding volumes from rotation of an area and cross sections.  The students will be given two worksheets to master the material.  Test on thursday over finding areas between two curves, volumes by rotation and volumes by cross sections.  Some multiple choice some free response.

Lesson for Monday, March 28

Math 3  We will look at solving systems of equations with quadratics.  We use substitution, elimination and the graphing calculator.  Homework is on page 202 1-20 in the book

Calculus.  Continue with solving volumes by rotation.  Students will be given a worksheet to finish problems 1-20  Test on Thursday over volumes by cross section and volumes by rotation.  

Lesson for Friday, March 25

Math 3  Retest of the conics test.  Students must be able to take each conic in general form and put it in standard form, given the conic in standard form find the appropriate information for each conic and then given certain information of a conic, put in standard form

Calculus:  continue with the problems from the book on page 407 problems 7-42.  We are finding volumes through rotation by the washer method.  Test next Thursday, March 31 over finding volumes.

Lesson for Thursday, March 24

Math 3 Review for the retest of the conics test.  Review problems from the workbook pages 200-224

the retest will be Friday.

Calculus:  We will find volumes by rotating an area about an axis of revolution.  Problems will be on page 407 7-42 all.  this is a two day assignment.

Lesson for Wednesday, March 23

Math 3  We will continue to review for the conic retest on Friday.  Students received their first test and can use this as a study guide.

Calculus:  Continue with the worksheet on finding volumes with cross sectional areas.

Lesson for Tuesday, March 22

Math 3  We will revisit conics and hand back the test and go over them  We will have a retake of the conics test on Friday.

Calculus:  Worksheet on finding volumes of cross sections.
