We finished the new lessons on Friday, August 26 and have spent 2 days reviewing for tomorrow's quiz.  Study your notes, the book, homework, practice doing problems, make flash cards for the vocabulary words, and get a good nights sleep so that you will be ready to take your quiz.  Remember to bring something to class to do after the quiz (read a book!).  You will have the entire period to take the quiz and look over it before you turn it in.

Thursday and Friday will be  lessons about how to find Expected Value.

Quizzes will not be returned until after the Labor Day Holiday!

GPS Algebra

Don't forget to bring the email addresses and telephone numbers of your Parents/Guardians to class tomorrow.  You will need this information to fill out some papers in class.  Today finished the review of middle school math topics you will need to know for this semester.  We will be starting Unit 1 on Monday.  Tomorrow we will go over our syllabus, take a pre-test, and do other "housekeeping"  activities that need to be covered to start our semester.

GPS Algebra

It was a pleasure to meet some of you at the Freshman Orientation on Thursday.  I look forward to working with all of you this year.  Make sure you check this blog once a week as I put any changes to the calendar on this blog as well as tell you about them in class.  I am attaching the calendar that we will use for the first unit.  This first unit is called "The Chance of Winning".  This is one of our statistics units that we will be studying this year.  I am also attaching the Supply list if any of you would like to see about getting your supplies this weekend.  All you will need for Monday is pencils and paper.  Look forward to seeing you on Monday.  Have a great last week-end!

Parents - Be sure to ask your student about what we did in class and check to make sure their homework is being done by asking to see it.  Also, ask your child to explain how to do his/her homework as this will help reinforce the concepts.

Extra help is available on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:35 - 4:00.   Stop by any morning after 8:00 am and if I am in my room I will be more than happy to help you.  Take advantage of these help times if you are not understanding the material.
