Informal Geometry February 23 - February 27

Monday:  Lesson 10.6 Symmetry

Homework:  Pages 437 - 439 #8-26, 30-35, and Quiz 2

Tuesday:  Lesson 10.7 Tessellations

Students were given the guidelines for the tessellation project which is due next Wednesday.  This will count as a test grade.  They can use the internet for pattern ideas.

Homework:  Pages 442 - 444 #4, 5, 7-13, 21-26

Wednesday:  Practice Worksheets 10-4, 10-5, 10-6, and 10-7.  Students were supposed to complete these in class, check their answers, and clarify their questions in preparation for tomorrow's quiz.

Thursday:  Quiz 10-4 through 10-7

Homework:  Study for quiz.

Friday:  Review for Chapter 10 Test

Assignment:  Page 449 #1-20

AAT February 23 - February 27

Monday:  Review Quiz in preparation for Test tomorrow.

Tuesday:  Test 5.4-5.6

Wednesday:  Using Fundamental Identities (Download 6.1 Notes and Class Examples).  Students will have a Quiz over this material on Friday.  This quiz was announced in class today. 

Download Summary Sheet 6.1 (For students who were absent). 

Homework:

• Rework class examples again before attempting homework assignment
• Page 459 #1, 5, 9, 12, 19-30all, 31-51odd 

Thursday:  Continue our study of fundamental identities.

Homework:  Pages 460-461 #53-81 odd, 91, 93, 101, 103

AAT February 17 - February 20

Monday:  No School

Tuesday:  Section 5-6 Inverse Functions

Test has been moved from this Thursday to next Tuesday.

Homework:  page 429 4-7 all, 9-15 odd, 27, 31-51 odd, 61, 62, 71,72,76 (Students will have class time to work on this assignment tomorrow as well)

Wednesday:  Complete assignment from Tuesday.  Whatever you don't finish in class is expected to be completed as homework.

Thursday:  Come to class with questions over assignments from 5-4, 5-5, and 5-6.

Friday:  Extra Practice in preparation for the test next Tuesday.  I plan to take up Pages 419, 429, and 447.  Make sure you have these ready to be turned in!  All work must be shown for credit.

AAT February 9- February 13

MONDAY:  Begin looking at graphs for the remaining 4 trig functions (tan, cot, sec, and csc).  Finish discussing word problems from 5.4.

Homework:  Complete worksheet (graphs) and 5.5 summary sheet in preparation for transformations of the graphs tomorrow in class.

TUESDAY:  We will spend a little time reviewing the sin and cos function graphs today and tomorrow before extending our knowledge to include transforming the other trig function graphs.  We also discussed the fact that we will begin to have unannounced pop quizzes.  This week, the students will take a timed quiz over the unit circle.  Below are some useful links containing information that students should be extremely familiar with:

WEDNESDAY:  Go over examples in class of graphing cos, sin, sec, csc functions.    

Homework:  Continue assignment from last night.
