Reading the United States Constitution and understanding the content is a requirement for this course. There is an assignment that was traditionally completed during our coverage of Unit 2 – Constitutional Underpinnings; this year, it will be a summer undertaking. I talked to a number of the past couple of year’s students and they typically felt that if there was required summer reading that the Constitution assignment was the best one for this course. It is time consuming, but not difficult. Please open the word document and follow the directions below:
- · Obtain a copy of the Constitution – an annotated one might make the assignment easier. There are a number of websites that have printable versions or you can purchase a “pocket” sized copy. There are only a handful of questions that will require an Internet look up.
- · All responses must be hand-written. Typed versions will not be accepted unless preapproved.
- · My suggestion is to glance through and expand the allotted space for each response, save and print. This should give you plenty of room to write your answers.
- · The assignment is due Monday, 08-22-11 regardless of whether you are in the fall or spring classes. If you are registered for the spring, please bring the assignment to room 810 by the due date.
