If you have difficulties printing these essays at home, copies will be available in the Lassiter Front Office during regular business hours beginning Wednesday, June 1. In addition to (1) reading, (2) thinking about, (3) re-reading and (4) annotating EVERY ONE of these essays, you should answer the following questions about EVERY SINGLE essay. Certainly, these questions may help guide your annotations, but you should also feel free to note whatever you find interesting about the essay- we’re looking forward to seeing what catches your interest! Please note that you should create a word document with your responses.
Essay Title:
Author:
Purpose. In a few sentences, comment on the writer’s main objective in writing this essay. Be sure to include a/some key action verb(s) (i.e. to explain, define, question, etc.) and to comment on the essay’s main topic.
Writer (Persona). Comment on the identity of the writer/narrator as it is developed in the essay. How will readers likely respond to the writer on a personal level? What details or elements contained in the essay have an impact on this response?
Style. Record one sentence from the essay that you find to be stylistically interesting. After recording the sentence, comment briefly on why you found the sentence interesting.
