Spanish III: Some of you presented your skit today. They went well!!! Remember, later we'll have more improv skits so you'll be ready to speak Spanish in the real world.

Spanish for Natives: Estuvieron buscando informacion en la biblioteca para sus proyectos y sus presentaciones. Algunos estan muy aventajados. Otros necesitan trabajar el fin de semana. Necesitan entregarlo el 5 de septiembre.

Thursday 08/28

Spanish III: No warm up today. We practiced the new vocabulary with the ball toss. Then in groups of 4 you wrote a conversation that would take place in an airport. You don't have to memorize the script word for word as this inhibits your ability to improvise (as you would have to in real life). Listen to what your partner is saying and based on what you hear, respond with the vocabulary you know. You will practice tomorrow and then present. Have fun :)

Spanish II: We did a lot of activities today! For the warm up, you did exercise 9 on page 5 in the workbook. Then we checked homework with the powerpoin (see yesterday's post). Then, we played the ball game to conjugate verbs. I threw the ball at you as you conjugated verbs. Then we played Avalancha. I divided the class in two and then you raced to the board in order to correctly conjugate verbs. Finally, you started writing sentences on a blue sheet that I gave you . Finish 1-10 for homework.

Spanish for Native speakers: I brought in the computers and you searched for an article in Spanish. We had a socratic seminar in which you had to give me two cards to get 100 for speaking in Spanish today.

Wednesday 8/27

Spanish II: We Translated sentences for the warm up. Then, you reviewed the vocabulary by playing ponga with your flashcards. You took a pop quiz on ten verbs.  You took notes on conjugation. Spanish III: We finished the vocabulary side on "El avión." Click here for the powerpoint. Download iiia_en_el_avin.ppt Finish the airport packet and turn in FRIDAY! :) It will count as a classwork/homework grade.

SNS: Tomaron una prueba de los acentos. Después imprimieron su presentación y estuve corrigiendola con ustedes. Continúen con la presentación. No se olvidedn de traer una receta y de cocinar también.

Tuesday 8/26

Spanish II: We reviewed the 20 verbs found on page 33 of your book. Here is the powerpoint. Download 20_verbos.ppt .We used the whiteboards to practice. We also played bingo and then in pairs you listened to a word in English and tried to find it in Spanish before your partner did. Who won?  For  homework cut your bingo board into flashcards. :)

Spanish III: We reviewed the present tense irregulars and started the vocab on the avion after the weather drill.

Spanish for Natives: We went to the media center today to continue to work on the project. Tomorrow you have a QUIZ. Make sure you study the rules for the accents and know where to place them.

Monday 8/25

Spanish II: I gave back the quiz you took on Friday. We went over every question and corrected each item. Please keep it so that you can refer back to it. Then we started the second setion in chapter 1. There are 20 verbs on page 33. I gave you a sheet with 20 squares. Please write the Spanish on one side and on the other side, draw a picture that represents the verb. Finish this sheet for HOMEWORK.

Spanish III: Today in class we reviewed the irregular present tense verbs by playing verbos verbos. Please continue to review these.

SNS: Fuimos a la biblioteca. Antes de ir estuvimos practicando la ortografia en el segundo paquete que les di. Hicimos el ejercicio D. Continuen trabajando en su proyecto. Tiene que ser espectacular! :)

Spanish III: We have been practicing the vocabulary throught different activities. Your quiz tomorrow will include a section in which you have to write a conversation and then read definitions and write the correct word. Estudia!

Tuesday 8/19

Spanish III: We did the second section in the airport packet. Then we reviewed vocabulary with the ball toss. You reviewed the verbs with a partner. We played avalancha. Then you did an activity in which you had to walk around and ask real life quetions that could arise at an airport. We will continue with it tomorrow. HMK: Translate the airport sheet. Monday 8/18

Spanish III: We went over vocabulary. You answered without looking. Then you read questions on a powerpoint and wrote the answers on whiteboards. Then we played Pepe. I said a definition in Spanish and a person from your team had to go to the board and write the vocabulary term. No homework.

Spanish II: We went over the adjectives and verbs with the ball. Then, you received a packet that reviews present tense ar, er and ir verbs. You did this while I issued books. If you were absent, see me to get a textbook and a workbook. Please bring these to class everyday.

SNS: Hoy estuvimos viendo las diferencias entre "él" y "el" Además, trabajamos del 1 al 10 en el paquete de los acentos. Después leímos continuidad de los parques de Julio Cortázar. De tarea. Escriban al menos 100 palabras. Ustedes son la persona que está leyendo el cuento y descubren que son la misma persona que está leyendo y está dentro! ¿Que va a pasar después?
