Week of May 13th - Span III

Monday 13^th –Students worked on a practice worksheet for the final exam.

Tuesday 14^th – The students who decided to present did so at the beginning of class. I checked yesterday’s work for a grade. You received a review sheet for the final that focuses on the conditional and the future tense.

Wednesday 15^th- Final Exam presentations. Students corrected their verb chart with a powerpoint. They received a present perfect review sheet. Download Las respuestas final exam review table of tenses

Week of May 6th - Span III

Monday 6 -  Students presented their commands projects. Students followed instructions to their peers directions on how to decorate treats, make paper crafts and learn dance steps.

Tuesday 7 – Students were introduced to the acronym ESCAPA to help them learn phrases associated with the subjunctive. Students continued with the presentations. Download Escapa y otros

Wedesday 8 – Students finished presentations. Great job!

Thursday 9 – Students will practice ESCAPA acronym and will do the activity on the back of Tuesday’s practice sheet. Week of April 29th - Span III

Monday 29^th – with a partner, students wrote down what they remembered about informal commands. Then after discussing them with the class, they received a sheet summarizing the notes. Students then broke into groups of 2 or 3 to start on a commands project. Students are to come up with a series of steps/commands to tell the class what to do. See the PowerPoint for ideas.

 Wednesday 1^st – Spring Fling. Students played matamoscas.

 Thursday 2^nd – Students practiced their new vocabulary and started subjunctive with the ESCAPA acronym. They practiced how to use it with this new acronym.

 Friday 3^rd – Students took a quiz on Food. They finished their Argentinian movie.

Week of April 29th - Span II

Monday 29 – Warm up preterite and imperfect. 5^th period worked on a superhero story that used both preterite and imperfect. Then we went over the answers. 7^th period interviewed the classmates using the imperfect and preterite and then shared their answers with the class. Students started vocabu 5a and 5b.

Homework: Students completed 5A ponga board for homework. We will play to review vocabulary tomorrow.

Tuesday 30^th – Students completed a warm up that practiced vocabulary. Then they played ponga “loteria”as a listening activity. Then they learned about irregular verbs in the preterite tense in chapter 5A.

Homework: Students had a vocabulary practice homework.

 Wednesday 1^st -  SPRING FLING. Students in class practiced vocabulary with matamoscas.

 Thursday 2^nd – Students completed a ½ sheet translation sheet. We went over it as a class. Then we did a whiteboards activity to practice vocabulary. Students were introduced to their final project. They will create a video in which they are reporting the news about a natural disaster. Students had a few minutes to brainstorm with their group.

 Friday 3^rd -  After the warm up, students learned the irregular verbs in 5B. Students learned about 5 de mayo and what the celebration means. They practiced speaking with dice and verbs.

 

Week of April 22nd Spanih II

Monday 22^nd  - Students completed a warm up. Then in groups, they brainstormed and wrote down the differences about preterite and imperfect. They shared them with the class. Then students were introduced to another use of the imperfect.

Tuesday 23^rd – Students started a two column sheet. Then they started “set the scence” notes. They completed a paragraph and we went over it to correct mistakes.

 Wednesday 24^th – After a warm up, students reviewed for the quiz. They practiced with vocabulary and imperfect vs. preterite. 

 Thursday 25^th – Students took a quiz on the 4b vocabulary and imperfect and reciprocal verbs.

 Friday 26^th-5t period – students conducted an interview and shared answers. 7^th period read a story and practiced preterite and imperfect.

Week of April 22nd - Span III

Monday 22^nd – Students reviewed subjunctive phrases with the acronym “Cheda” cheese. The picked a phrase and wrote it on the board. Then, we reviewed the notes from last week and finished taking notes. Then students reviewed vocabulary and completed an info gap individually.

Tuesday 23^rd – Students finished the back of yesterday’s info gap. They reviewed Cheda cheese and did translations. We went over the translations in class.

 Wednesday 24^th – Students worked on a crossword puzzle to review the subjunctive tense and the Cheda expressions. Students were also introduced to a their final exam project. Remember to sign up for the days you want to present. Presentations will start May 10^th.

 Thursday 25^th – Students wrote sentences on the board using Cheda and subjunctive. Then they worked in groups of 3 to translate sentences that were shown on a ppt. Finally, students reviewed vocabulary by playing “contraseña”.

Friday – 26^th Students took the subjunctive cheda cheese quiz. They watched the rest of the movie 5 amigas.

 

 

 

Week of April 15th Spanish III

Monday – Students talked in Spanish about their Spring Break. Then they sang a song about subjuntivo. Finally, students started writing a story about a bank robbery. 8 pictures were posted around the room and students had to write w sentences for each. Students did not finish, but will finish tomorrow in class.

 Tuesday - No warm up. Students finished the story writing activity from yesterday. Then they practiced reading out loud. Students shared their stories for pesos before turning them in. Then students practiced giving advice and recommendations to different celebrities.

 Wednesday – As a warm up students listed all the food vocabulary they know. Then they shared the suggestions they would make to different celebrities using the subjunctive. Recomiendo que = I recommend / Sugiero que = I suggest / Aconsejo que = I asvise / Quiero que = I want

Then students were introduced to half of their new food vocabulary.

 Thursday – As a warm up, students wrote a short conversation about what they would say to order food. We reviewed vocabulary as well. Then students began to learn different ways to learn the subjunctive with the acronym “Cheda” Cheese.  Finally, students read an article.

 Friday – Students watched part of a movie in Spanish.

 

Week of April 15th - Spanish II

Monday – Students talked in Spanish about their Spring Break. Then they practiced listening and repeating vocabulary. They completed two activities in the book and we went over them as a class. Students received a homework sheet and were given 5 minutes to start it in class.

 Tuesday – Students completed a crossword as their warm up. I checked homework and we went over it. As a class, students wrote “cuentos” stories using their current vocabulary and the imperfect tense. Then students did a whiteboards activity.

 Wednesday – Students studied their flashcards as the warm up. They were introduced to reciprocal verbs. They completed an activity with a PowerPoint that helped them better understand this concept. Students completed the front of a worksheet in class and the back of it for homework. It is important to finish the homework assignment as you will need it tomorrow in class to finish the activity.

 Thursday – Students completed a speaking warm up.  Students exchanged homework papers and finished the activity. They also did a reading activity individually and turned it in for a reading grade.

 Friday -   Students did a practice sheet for warm up. Then for a speaking exercise students completed an activity in the book. Finally, students created cards that indicated reciprocity or not. They held these up if the picture on the screen indicated that the verb was reciprocal. This process is called “binding” in foreign language. You are able to see a picture and think in Spanish before you think in your native language. How did you do?

Span II Week of April 1st

Monday 1^st      

Students practiced speaking with Indirect Object cards. Students compared the indirect objects to the direct objects.

Tuesday 2^nd

Students continued practicing with indirect object pronouns. They started writing sentences of pictures and information that was posted around the room.

Wednesday 3^rd

Students finished writing the sentences. They did a ½ sheet that reinforced reading and answering questions. Then they were introduced to double direct object pronouns. These will not be on a test or quiz, but they are good to know.

Thursday 4^th

Students completed a listening activity and turned it in. Students were introduced to the new vocabulary 4B. It is a continuation of 4A as it keeps the theme about family and still uses the imperfect tense. Homework: Make flashcards of all the new vocabulary words, English on one side and Spanish on the other. Students were offered colored paper to make flashcards if they do not have flahscards at home.

Friday 5^th

Students watched the 4A video. They played slap with their new vocabulary words and played matamoscas. ¡¡Feliz vacaciones!!!
