The attached link was developed for parents and school administration and provides information about the new Access Classes. Access classes provide exposure to academic instruction based on the Georgia Performance Standards for students on Georgia Alternate Assessment. Access students completing their GAA and reaching 19 years old, will be able to participate in the Cobb County Transition Academy until age 22. You will note, your student's program is still based on their individual education plan goals and objectives; however instruction will expose your student to standards that all other high school students are required to master for graduation. Future blog posts will contain the standards we are addressing. Individual units will be 3-5 weeks in length so standards will not be updated weekly. My blog will still continue to post class activities and upcoming events.
