March 22-26

This week we will finish Imperialism, looking specifically at Japanese Imperialism in Asia. We will also look at the Russian Revolution. We will have a quiz over the material in class this week on Friday.

March 15-19

This week students will be learning about Imperialism in Asia. The focus will be on India, Southeast Asia, and China. Students will work on a webquest that deals with the Open-Door Policy in China. Students will write speeches as British Merchants or Chinese Nationalist and try to convince the Empress to either allow foreign merchants in China or not allow foreign merchants in China.

This week we will be finishing Imperialism in Africa and will then move onto Imperialism in Asia. We will look specifically at India, China, and Japan and the effects of Imperialism throughtout the conitnent.

March 1-5

This week we will begin to look at imperialism and the effect that it had on Africa. We will discuss how the growth of industrialization caused European nations to compete for resources outside of Europe. These factors causing the scramble for Africa.
