Art classes this week....

Parents,

Hopefully you have seen artwork come home the past two weeks. We still have a few clay projects to go home from Ceramics classes but everything else should be at home. (Hopefully not in the trash can.)

All classes are working on their final projects today or playing an art game for review. Ceramics classes will be concentrating on finishing touches on their final projects and clean up duties.

I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching my classes this semester and have the greatest students. Part of the joy in teaching is getting to know the students. I will miss many next semester who can't take an art classes.

Photography

Photography A  & C students are assigned computer days this week to upload their final project photos and create a MovieMaker or PhotoStory with those photos. The MovieMaker will be shown on the day of the final exam.

AP Photography is to have one concentration piece done for their final.

Ceramics

Ceramics students are still busy painting and glazing. The kilns will continue to be fired this week. We will also begin the clean up process. All students will sign up for one clean up duty to help get the room back in order for next semester.

 

Comprehensive Art

Students will be busy this week finishing their cartoon by Tuesday. We will also be doing a good review project which is creating an art game. The games will be passed throughout the class and played during the class period. It is a great review for the final exam.

 

Photography

All Photography students should be shooting images for their final assignments. In class, students are editing photos taken last week in Photo. A.

Photo C students are working on a card project.

AP students are trying a few different ideas for their concentrations. All need to be shooting photos now.

Ceramics

Ceramics students have been finishing up their previous projects while the kilns have been fired. This week I will be doing several glaze firings.

The Ceramics A boxes are beginning to be painted now. Students also had an opportunity to make a small snowman so we will be firing those next week.

It is important that students stay on task until the end of the semester. The kilns cannot be fired unless they are 3/4 full so we have to stay on schedule.

 

Comprehensive Art

Students are continuing their cartoon project this week as well as beginning a sculpture mobile project. It is very important that students stay on task for the remaining days of the semester. A student can come in early before school. I am here by 7:00 a.m. Students can also come in during their lunch period with a pass written ahead of time.
