Photography

Photo A students finished their books and had a class critique of them on Friday. We are now moving on to the foam core board sculpture of raising a photo in many heights. We will also shoot a digital assignment this week, weather permitting.

Photo C students will finish editing their shadows digitals.

AP students will complete their breadth section editing to push beyond the typical photos.

Ceramics

All students will concentrate on finishing their current projects (boxes and body sculptures) this week. We will begin discussing final project ideas and planning them out on paper so the actual execution of the projects will begin by the end of the week or next week. It sounds like it is early but we are now in week 13. Keeping in mind that the kiln has to be fired many times and the pieces have to be thoroughly dried to avoid blow-ups, the students don't have that much time to work.

 

Comprehensive Art

The students are continuing their painting project. Most students have been painting for at least two days now. Look for the paper relief projects to be coming home today.

Photography

Photo A students are completing their books this week and moving on to a foam core board project. They are also rotating on the computer to upload and edit photos.

Photo C students are shooting through sheer items like a sheet during class. Outside of class, the students are working on a photojournalism project and types of photography.

AP students are putting the final editing touches on their breadth section and then we will move on to the concentration which is 12 pieces also.

 

Ceramics

Ceramics A students are now assembling their boxes.

Advanced Ceramics - They are working with a TOSS student from KSU for the next two weeks on a body part sculpture project involving hands and feet.

Comprehensive Art

The students are moving on to their major painting project. They have a choice of an underwater scene or a floral scene and are currently working on three thumbnail sketches. We will choose one of the three sketches, rework if necessary, and then enlarge to the size to paint. The students will be working with color schemes on this painting.

Photography

Photo A students are finishing their photo books this week and will be editing many photos in GIMP.

Photo C students will continue shootiing food coloring and glass along with beginning a large unit on the types of photography.

Ceramics

We are continuing the boxes in Ceramics A this week. Hopefully we will be putting the walls together this week.

Advanced Ceramics will be starting a new project with Miss Thomas, a TOSS student from KSU beginning on Tuesday. We look forward to her new project.

 

Comprehensive Art

The students are busy putting more coats on their paint swatches for the color wheel project. Color mixing is important and can help them when doing posters, etc. in other classes and even later in life. We will be finishing the color wheel this week hopefully and moving on to a painting project.

Ribbons and Paper projects:
