Topic:  Haus, Wohnung, wie leben und wohnen die Deutschen

Students have had several quizz es on this topic and have worked on projects.  they have been presenting their projects and are now working on the computers.

they will have another presentation on Monday. 

Students have also been in the Media Center working with Rosetta Stone, at least once a week.

Students have had several quizzes on the vocabulary for this topic.  students have been working on projects and presented those.  Students have been working with computers also for this topic and have another presentation tomorrow.

Accounting

Accounting I:

Accounting I

Topic: Income Statement, Statement of Changes in Owner's Equity, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statement.

students will work and practice problems and then prepare statements.  Students will  analyze and compile information to put these statements together. Students will learn why a business needs these statements.

Accounting II

Topic: Longterm Liabilities, Bond Payable Transactions, Redemption of Bonds and the Bond Sinking Fund

Students will learn keyterms that explain these transactions.  Students will learn why and how to record theses transactions 

German III,IV Jan. 19.-23.

Topic: Wie und wo wohnen die Deutschen?

Students are learning and investigating how Germans live and where. Do they live mostly in houses or a

apartments?  Do they live mostly in cities or small towns?  How do they get around, by car or more with public transportation? Students are going to put an ad in the paper in Germany, advertising a place here for rent or sale and also an ad looking for a place in Germany to live for a year.   Something unusual for Americans is the fact of a housing shortage so people put ads in the paper looking for a place to live.

Also, students will put a plan together for their dream house.

students will have several quizzes on vocab from the topic.

German II, Jan. 19-23.

Topic:  Das Haus/Die Wohnung

Students will learn how Germans are living compared to Americans.  How/where do they live?  Are more living in cities or in the suburbs? Are they living in houses or apartments?  How expensive is a house /apartment?  Why? How big are the properties compared to ours? Sle tudents will learn voculary for this unit and have several quizzes.  They are working on projects, looking for an apartment or house while living in Germany in the near future and they are trying to sell a place here.  Ads are done on the computer and presented to the class.  Students will also work on their dream house and present to class.

German I Jan.19-23.

Topic:  Schule

Students are learning about the German school system from Kindergarten through highschool and beyond. They will know the different types of schools and the trac students will take in these schools.

What does a Stundenplan for students look like compared to ours here.  How many subjects do they take each semester. How much vacation do they have. How big are the schools. How is the grading system different. How do they get to school. With this unit comes a very large vocabulary list that students have to learn and we have started learning.

Students will have several vocab quizzes,  they have to learn the definite articles for each noun(der,die,das).  We are starting sentence structure with accusative.

German III,IV

Happy New Year! I hope everybody had a nice break and is ready for the next semester.

Students in this class are learning how Germans live, how is it the same or different between both countries.  What do my students like or dislike from both countries. This class had never bin exposed to all the vocabulary that goes with the living and housing unit, so we are catching up on this topic.

German II

Students have started on a new unit that covers everything about living and housing. We will compare and contrast between both countries.  We will have several vocabulary quizzes because this unit has so much new vocabulary.
