German III,IV

Today was one more day going over the Layered Project because there were some questions.

Tomorrow we will start with Rosetta Stone.  We received the chance to get Rosetta Stone because the county had a limited grant available. 

I think students will really like the program and we will use it anytime I can get space availability in the Media Center.

German II

Stadt oder Land?

Esential Question:  where would you prefer to live, City or Country?

we started this new chapter last week. we are discussing and and writing the pros and cons of living in or outside a big city. 

Students have the opportunity to make up any assessment with a low grade of (below 50) this week only.  I talked to students who will have this opportunity and they are responsible for coming and making up the grades.  Several students have been out because of illness and missed some instructions.  this gives them a chance to bring up their grade before Thanksgiving.

German I

Students are continuing to learn vocabulary for clothing.  How to use verbs in a statement sentence structure. this chapter has several special verbs with prefixes.  Students learn how to use these verbs in sentences.

Students have the opportunity this week (only) to make up very low assessment grades (any grade below 50), they can make up projects missed or not done because of illness.  I have talked to students today, it is their responsibility to come and make up assessment.

Accounting

Students in Accounting I and II worked on their respective chapter tests today.  Tomorrow we will discuss a lesson on entrepreneurship and what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. We are also working with more ethics problems in the business world.

Students have been presenting Power point presentations of important people(people that made a difference) in the U.S.  We have been working on our Layered Project and coming near the end.

We have been discussing how foreigners (Auslander) are being treated in Germany and have made comparisons to our country.  We have also been discussing the problems that people have living in a foreign country.

Students are finishing the unit on "future tense"  Now we combine all different tenses and look at the basic differences of how to put a sentence together.

We finished the unit on Body Parts and have started learning clothing and will learn colors.

Essential Question: What do German teenagers wear?  Do they like the same clothing we do?

How do you account for different Inventory methods and why?

Students started on Chapter 5, learning the key terms and looking to compute for different Inventory methods.

BCS-PAII-2. Students will use Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

to determine the value of assets.

f. Compare and evaluate inventory concepts and costing procedures and apply these concepts and procedures to merchandising and manufacturing businesses.

Essential Question:  What step in the Accounting cycle are we using the General ledger and why?

Students started on Chapter 6, using the General Ledger

BCS-PAI-4. Students will understand and apply the various steps of the accounting

cycle for proprietorships and corporations and explain the purpose of each step

g. Analyze business transactions and their effect on the accounting equation.

h. Apply the double-entry system of accounting to record business transactions and
