Important Reminders: The End of Course Test (EOCT) is this Thursday and Friday. Students in 4th period will take the test in the English lab and students in 7th period will take it in room 500. You will have assigned seating and will be asked to turn your phone in as you enter the room. Remember, this test is worth 15% of your grade.
We have been reviewing for the EOCT in the past week. This has included review of research and MLA documentation, review of figurative devices in poetry (by reading "Chicago" and "Grass" by Carl Sandburg, and "In The Dark Tower" by Countee Cullen), review of point of view by reading "Hiroshima" by John Hersey, and taking a practice test using the released EOCT from 2007. On Monday we will take a literary elements quiz in class so that I can assess which elements we need to reinforce. On Tuesday we will go over the literary elements quiz and reinforce needed concepts. On Wednesday we will talk about Tennessee Williams and begin the play A Streetcar Named Desire. This play will be assessed on the final exam. On Thursday and Friday we will take the EOCT.
