This week we will be finishing up our unit on South Asia. Before the break students turned in their unit maps and unit Reading Study Guide. If you were absent please be sure to turn in these two items. We covered the geography of South Asia before the break. Additionally, your South Asia Environmental Presentation is Due Tuesday, April 8th so please make sure you have moved your presentation to our class folder on your Google Drive. This week we will focus on the human geography, history, and religion of this region. Please review the documents on the right hand side of the blog under South Asia Unit Resources this week as well. Students should be prepared for a unit test and map quiz by Tuesday, April 15th. I will be out on Friday so Thursday and Monday will be our review days. Some term/ideas that you need to be paying close attention to are: Hinduism, Buddhism, Caste System, Aryans, British Colonialism, India Independence, Creation of Pakistan and later Bangladesh, Gahdhi, Non-Violent Resistance, Civil Disobedience

Thursday- Media Center Lap Assignment
Friday- Media Center Lab Assignment- Project will be due the Tuesday after we get back from Spring Break. Over the break, review the chapters on South Asia. We will prepare for a unit test the Friday after we get back from Spring Break. This unit will move very quickly.
This week we are gearing up for the Middle East Test (Friday) and Map Quiz (Thursday). Be sure to review your Reading Study Guide, your textbook chapters 21-23, your vocabulary, your unit maps, and your ch. 21-23 study guides. Go back and review the link on the right hand side of the page that says Southwest Asis/Middle East Unit Resources as well for unit notes.

In this unit we will learn about the Middle East and North Africa. An emphasis will be placed on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, the Iraq Wars, the Afghanistan War, Terrorism, Water Scarcity, Arab Spring, and Oil. The unit maps will be due on Friday so work diligently to complete them.
