We reviewed the terms onomatopoeia, alliteration and rhyme and marked them as "musical" on the Poetry Terms Sheet.
Divide a piece of paper into Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. For each season, you will list ten words associated with that season; this will result in a total of 40 words. Each set of 10 should include the following: 3 words that rhyme, 3 words that have alliteration, 1 onomatopoeia, and 3 words of choice. Here is my example for winter. snow, cocoa, ho! ho! ho! (3 that rhyme), sledding, slippery, and snow (alliteration of S), whistle (onomatopoeia), and fireplaces, icicles, and mittens (3 free choice). You will make this kind of list for ALL FOUR SEASONS. This is due at the beginning of the period tomorrow.
We watched a music video and a film clip that related to today's poetry.
