9th Honors - Monday, December 19th

4th and 5th period reviewed for the final.  Graded papers were returned.

7th period took the final.

British Literature Honors - Monday, December 19th

We thoroughly reviewed for the exam.  All graded papers were returned.  The exam is all "Scantron" and does NOT have essay questions.  I will see you Thursday!

9th Honors - Friday, December 16th

We took the fiction book test.  If you were absent, you should come in early on Monday to make it up.  It will take you 45-50 minutes, so you want to be here between 7:15 and 7:30.

There is no "official" homework for the weekend.  If you want to start preparing for your exam, look over your notes and study guide.  Email me if you have questions.  Jodi.Day@cobbk12.org

British Literature Honors - Friday, December 16th

We watched most of the rest of the film.  We have a few minutes left that we can watch on Monday.

The priority for Monday will be reviewing for the final exam.  Unless you are really sick or have a family emergency, please do not be absent on Monday.  It will be good for you to be here for the review.

There is no "official" weekend homework.  However, if you are wanting to study this weekend, use your study guide an go over your notes.  You will probably want to review the literary terms from the beginning of the year.

9th Honors - Thursday, December 15th

REMINDER:  Tomorrow is your fiction book test.  Bring your book with you; you can use it during the test.

4th and 5th period watched the film. (You will review on Monday.)

7th period reviewed for the final, and then watched some of the film.

British Literature Honors - Thursday, December 15th

We finished Morality Play!!!  We read Chapter 16 and discussed the themes of poetic justice, fate and destiny, the concept of someone being a visionary, and acting (fine line between reality and fantasy).  We also talked about the AP classes offered in the English department and planning your English classes for the rest of high school.

Students were given the rest of the time to finish the Chapter 8-13 questions.

There are no more question sheets for the end of the book.

Tomorrow we will finish The Reckoning.  Monday we will review for the final.  Next Thursday you will take your final, and first semester of your sophomore year will be over!  Wow!!!

9th Honors - Wednesday, December 14th

Optional fiction book projects were collected.

We watched the next section of The Odyssey film.

Tomorrow we will finish the film.  Friday will be your in class test on your fiction book.  Bring your fiction book with you to use during the test, and then we will return the books to the Media Center.

Monday we will review anything you might have questions about.  7th period will take the final.  I will see 5th period on Tuesday and 4th period on Wednesday for the final.  Note to 4th period: I am assuming you will leave school after you finish your finals on Tuesday.  If for some reason you choose to stay, you will have a study hall.

British Literature Honors - Wednesday, December 14th

We read, together, Chapter Fourteen and Chapter Fifteen.  We discussed as we read.  If you were absent, be sure to read these chapters and see me if you have any questions about the plot.  Everything is coming together in these last chapters, and I do not want you to feel confused.

Tomorrow we will finish the book; we only have 8 pages left.  The remaining time in the class period will be for you to finish the Chapter 8-13 worksheet.

Friday we will finish viewing The Reckoning.

Monday we will go back through the Anglo Saxon powerpoint, talk about Beowulf, talk about Macbeth, go back through the Morality Play  Power Point, and answer any lingering questions you have about Morality Play.  I am assuming you will leave after your finals on Tuesday and Wednesday.  If you stay on Tuesday, you will have a study hall.  I will see you next Friday for your final.

9th Honors - Tuesday, December 13th

We read the last two stories in The Odyssey.  Students were given time to finish Part Two questions.  If you were absent, you need to do both of these things.

Students turned in Vocabulary Unit #7.

Optional Fiction Project is due tomorrow.

Fiction Book test this Friday, December 16th.
