9th Honors - Wednesday, August 31st

We went to the Media Center for 9th Grade Media Center Training.  If you were absent, see me for some notes.

British Literature Honors - Wednesday, 31st

1st period viewed a Power Point about Anglo-Saxon history, and took notes.  After the Power Point, students began an assignment about the poem "The Seafarer."  We listened to the poem first.  There was not much time to work, so we will finish in class tomorrow.  If you were absent, I will post the Power Point here tomorrow.  Also, if you were absent, see me for a copy of the assignment.

2nd period - We had technical difficulties and could not do the Power Point.  We spent the period on "The Seafarer" assignment.  We will take the notes tomorrow.  If you were absent, see me for a copy of the assignment.

 

9th Honors - Tuesday, August 30th

There is a new seating chart.  If you were absent, see me to find your new seat.

Students were shown how to access this blog.

We discussed Chapter Two of Anthem.

Chapter One worksheets, Chapter Two worksheets, and any Hymn/Symbol projects that were taken home to be finished were collected.

Students were given time to read.

Tomorrow we are meeting in the Media Center.

After reading page 19 in the textbook about The Book of Exeter, we read and discussed the poem The Wanderer.

If you were absent, you may come in before school or during your lunch to use a book for make-up.

9th Honors - Monday, August 29th

I broke a bowl in my kitchen this morning, and cut my hand pretty badly.  I had to arrange for a substitute and go to the Emergency Room for stitches.  Students should have been given the Chapter 2 worksheet for Anthem and continued to work and read.  If you were absent, or have any questions, see me tomorrow.  I will be back tomorrow.

Students finished the notecard assignment.  If you have not finished that assignment, please come in early some morning next week to do so.

9th Honors - Thursday, August 25th

No freshmen were absent today, so no one should need make-up work.  We did an activity with a Quick Write and an assigned "job."  This was a writing to parallel our reading of Anthem.

Students were given time to finish the Chapter One worksheet, and to read when finished.  If you are finished with the Chapter One sheet, please turn it in.  If you are not finished, see me to check out a copy of Anthem to take home for the weekend.

We did an activity with a section of history in the textbook.  In order to make this up, if you were absent, you need to see me for instructions and materials.  If you did not finish in class today, you can finish tomorrow.
