LAST POSTING of 2010-2011 School Year - Honors

We walked our books down to the book room and turned them in.  If you were not here, you must return your book on your own time.  Also, if you did not have your book today, you must return it on your own time.

We continued The Express.  Students who preferred to spend the time studying for the final were permitted to do so.  This will also be the plan for tomorrow, 5/20.  Next week is finals week, and I only need to see you in your exam time slot.  If you stay at school after your Monday finals, we will just be reviewing if you are here.

Wednesday, May 18th - Honors

In first period, we went over the graded essays and watched this Power Point and discussed it.  If you were absent, view this Power Point and see me for your graded paper.

After that, we watched the nonfiction film The Express.  Students were given the option to study for the final rather than watching the movie.

In 4th, 5th, and 7th period, we discuss the summer reading.  If you were absent, see me.  I need to fill you in and get you to sign something.  Then we watched the nonfiction movie The Express.  Students were given the option to study for the final rather than watching the movie.

Wednesday, May 18th - College Prep

We talked about Summer Reading.  Come see me if you were absent.  I need to fill you in.  We watched part of Jason and the Argonauts to refresh our memories about mythology before the final.  Students were given the chance to study for the final instead of watching the movie.

Tuesday, May 17th - HONORS

Again, due to an adjusted bell schedule for testing, different classes did different things.

1st period did this writing assignment and had time to study for the final:

4th period did a How -To lesson that involved a film clip, how-to books, and how-to magazines.  Everyone was present, so there is no make-up work.

5th period was shortened to 27 minutes - we started the same project that 4th period did, but all we had time for was the film clips.  We will do the rest tomorrow.

7th period did the same as 4th.  If you were absent, there is no written make-up work.  For the final, make sure you know what How-To texts are and how they are put together.

Tuesday, May 17th - College Prep

We finished watching The Birds.

Monday, May 16th - HONORS

1st period - We did a film clip, and looked at books and magazines that are based on How-To concepts.  No one was absent - no make-up work.

4th period - We finished Seabiscuit and turned in the worksheet.  Students received graded literary analysis papers.  We went over a Power Point of commonly made errors.

5th period - We only had 27 minutes.  We went over the Power Point of Commonly made errors on the literary analysis papers.

7th period - We went over the Power Point of commonly made errors on the literary analysis papers.

Monday, May 16th - COLLEGE PREP

We continued watching The Birds and the projects for the Media Center books were collected.  If you were absent, turn in your book project when you return.

Thursday, May 12th AND Friday, May 13th - COLLEGE PREP and HONORS

We took the EOCT on both the 12th and the 13th in all classes.  If you were absent, you will get called in to make up the test.
