Friday, April 29th - HONORS

We had a work day.  Remember that the final copy of your paper is due for a major grade on Tuesday, May 3rd.

Friday, April 29th - College Prep

We had a reading day.  Remember to continue to read.  Try to be half finished (at least) by Wednesday, May 4th and prepare to be finished by Wednesday, May 11th.

Thursday, April 28th - HONORS

We went to the Writing Lab and did a practice EOCT test on the website www.usatestprep.com.  If you were absent, you need to make this up from your home computer or a Lassiter computer.  We started a new benchmark test today and the code is BUYOXABEDE.

1st period - You will not actually have any class time tomorrow because of the Honors Assembly taking place during 1st period.

4th, 5th, and 7th periods - You have a work day.  Either plan to work on revising your paper, or plan to work on some other sort of homework to free up your weekend time to work on your paper.  Final copies are due on Tuesday, May 3rd for a major grade.

Thursday, April 28th - COLLEGE

Wednesday, April 27th - HONORS

We began our last unit of the year, nonfiction.  We took notes from this Power Point.  If you were absent, be sure to get these notes as there will be questions about them on the semester exam.

We read a piece by Bill Cosby called "Go Deep to the Sewer."  If you were absent, you will need to come in before school some morning and read it.  It is only in the class set of textbooks.

Reminder: Final papers due next Tuesday the 3rd.

Wednesday, April 27th - COLLEGE PREP

We then practiced writing thesis statements.  No one was absent today, so there should be no make-up work concerns.

Students had about 20 minutes to read.  Plan to have your Media Center book half read by Wednesday, May 4th and finished by Wednesday, May 11th.

Tuesday, April 26th - HONORS

We did peer editing today.  If you were absent, you need to get a peer editing sheet from here (or from me) and fill it out about your own paper.  You will turn this in for a grade.  Final copies are due for major grade next Tuesday, May 3rd.

Tuesday, April 26th - COLLEGE PREP

We went to the Media Center and checked out fiction books.  No one was absent, so everyone should have a book.  Try to read to AT LEAST page 15 by class time tomorrow.  (If you can read further than that, please do!)  Bring your book to class every day for the next week; I am going to try to give you in class reading time every day.  The book test will be May 11th.  You will need to finish by then.
