World Literature Wednesday 2/15

Today, students worked on developing topic sentences for their research paper body paragraphs and connecting quotes to the different body paragraphs.  Students will have the opportunity to continue working on their body paragraphs in class tomorrow.

American Literature Wednesday 2/15

Today, students finished viewing a film, Profiles in Courage,  based on the life of Frederick Douglass, and students worked on a viewing guide which must be completed in complete sentences. 

Note: 1st period- Answered questions based on the life of Frederick Douglass (complete sentences) and read the first chapter of Of Mice and Men.

Vocabualry Quiz 11- Tuesday 2/14

Today, students took their vocabulary quiz 10 and worked on vocabulary packet 11 which is due on Friday 2/17.

Today, students took their vocabulary 11 quiz and worked on their vocabulary 12 packet which is due on Thursday 2/16.

World Literature Monday 2/13

Today, students viewed a PowerPoint on how to write an effective introduction, and students worked on drafting their introduction paragraphs for their research papers.  This paragraphs should include a hook, a transition into the thesis stament, and a thesis statement, which has been approved by Mrs. Crandall and should be the last sentence in the introduction.

American Literature Monday 2/13

Today, students continued reading from: Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, and students discussed and answered questions as a class to improve reading comprehension and reflect on the purpose for reading.  Students also wrote a paragraph about their first memories of reading.
