American Literature Friday 4/29

Today, students practiced for the EOCT on usatestprep.com.  Students should continie reading The Marrow of Tradition.  Students should have chapters 10-15 read by Wednesday 4/4.

Today, students took vocabulary lesson 11 quiz.  After the quiz, students worked on vocabulary lesson 12, which is due tomorrow.

Reminders:  9th Lit/Comp End of Course Test- Thursday, May 12th and Friday, May 13th.  Students may practice for this test on usatestprep.com

EOCT practice sessions May 2-May 11 in writing lab, starting at 7:30 AM...students may earn an extra credit opportunity by attending the sessions.

Today, we continued reading "Romeo and Juliet" Act II/ Scene III-IV, and students wokred in their Act II study guides.

American Literature Wednesday 4/27

Today, students continued in their preparation for the End of Course Test by practicing on usatestprep.com.  Students will be taking vocabulary quiz 11 tomorrow.  Also, students should continue reading The Marrow of Tradition.  Chapters 16-20 must be read by Wednesday, May 4th.

Ninth Lit/Comp Wednesday 4/27

Today, students took vocabulary quiz 10 and started vocabulary packet 11, which is to be completed tonight for homework and turned in at the beginning of class.  Students must bring their books tomorrow, as we will continue reading "Romeo and Juliet".

American Literature and Ninth Lit/Comp EOCT Dates Clarification

Correction:  The American Literature and Ninth Lit/Comp EOCT at Lassiter High School will take place on Thursday 5/12 and Friday 5/13.  Please make this adjustment to your calendar.  I apologize for the confusion.

American Literature Tuesday 4/26

Today, students read "In Another Country" by Hemingway.  Students completed a reading strategy and literary analysis handout, which they turned in at the end of class.

The American Lit/Comp End of Course test is worth fifteen percent of a student's over all EOCT will take place on Monday, May 9th and Tuesday, May 10th.  Students may practice for this test at usatestprep.com

Ninth Lit/Comp Monday 4/25 and Tuesday 4/26

Today, students continued taking their EOCT benchmark tests.  When students completed the test, they were given time to play instructional games associated with the EOCT.  Students will be taking their vocabulary lesson 10 quiz tomorrow.

American Literature Monday 4/25

Today, students worked on the computers in the writing lab.  Students created accounts on usatestprep.com, and took a benchmark test for the EOCT.  Students may use this tool at home in order to prepare for the EOCT.  Student may take practice tests and play games associated with EOCT content.  Students may log on to may class, and I will monitor the hours they spend practicing for the EOCT.
