This Week(3/28--4/1): I really hope you formed those reading groups we talked about as part of your after-prom activities... We'll reflect on, grade, and score the AP multiple choice test you took last week and I'll check your annotations over the first 100 pages of your novel. More thoughtful reading and annotating. Another small group discussion. Then break.

This Week(3/21--3/25): At first glance, a pretty simple week. Dig a little deeper and you've got AP test prep and thoughtful reading and annotating of your Independent Novel. We'll end the week with small group discussions of your novel.

• AP Multiple Choice Monday! Prose and Poetry

Tuesday, March 22nd:

• Independent novel: pacing, some words about getting the most out of your annotations, reading and annotating.

Wednesday, March 23rd:

• Independent novel: reading and annotating

Thursday, March 24th:

• Independent novel: reading and annotating

Friday, March 25th:

• Independent novel: small-group discussions--transcripts due at the end of the period

This Week(3/14--3/18): What? No AP MC Monday?! We'll begin the week with a vocabulary quiz over 70 words followed by two days of presenting your thematic technology projects followed by an AP prose essay followed by the official "launch" of your independent novel.

Monday, March 14th:

• 70 vocabulary cards due; Vocabulary Quiz #2
• A brief overview of the Independent Novel Unit
• Finish the film version of Waiting for Godot

Tuesday, March 15th:

• Waiting for Godot thematic technology project presentations

Wednesday, March 16th:

• Waiting for Godot thematic technology project presentations

Thursday, March 17th:

• AP in-class essay: prose passage

Friday, March 18th:

• Fill out form of intent for Independent Novel Unit
• Glossing and scoring the poetry and prose AP essays

AP Literature

This Week(3/7--3/11): As we get closer to May and the AP exam expect more intensive and focused test preparation. We'll reflect on and discuss the AP multiple choice practice test you took last Friday, we'll reflect on and gloss the in-class essay you wrote on Waiting for Godot last Thursday, you will write an AP in-class essay on poetry, and you will have a chance to work on the Waiting for Godot thematic technology project due next week.

Monday, March 7th:

•  Since I wasn't here at the end of last week, vocabulary is postponed until next Monday. On Monday, 3/14 you have 70 vocabulary cards due in addition to a quiz.
• AP Multiple Choice Practice Test from Friday, 3/4: Establishing the tone of each passage, rating the degree of difficulty for each question, reflect on responses with a partner, grade and score.

Tuesday, March 8th:

• Waiting for Godot thematic technology project guidelines, expectations, and due dates
• Gloss and score the AP open response essay on Waiting for Godot and Othello.

Wednesday, March 9th:

• Waiting for Godot thematic technology project: work in groups in computer lab

Thursday, March 10th:

• AP in-class essay: paired poems

Friday, March 11th:

• Waiting for Godot thematic technology project: work in groups in computer lab
