This Week(2/28--3/4): Welcome back! I hope your break was full of meaning and purpose. Please note: 50 vocabulary cards are due Monday (20 from Godot and 30 from Wordmasters). We'll get right to reading and analyzing the play as a class on Monday, so have your copy of the play. We'll have AP multiple choice Monday on Friday.

This Week(2/14--2/18): Sorry I missed your dramatic readings and green food on Friday! During this last week before break we will explore the existential themes, as well as the literary innovations and distortions of Samuel Beckett's Absurdist drama Waiting for Godot.

Go out and buy or borrow a copy of Beckett's Waiting for Godot for Monday, 2/14.

Friday, February 18th:

• Waiting for Godot: Writing prompt; View Act I of a film version

Prompt #1:

In 10 or more sentences identify and explain at least three major existential, political, religious and/or social ideas at work/emerging in the first act of the play. Be sure to address any ironic "twists" to traditional notions of existential, political, social or religious thinking.

This Week(2/7--2/11): There are some loose ends we need to tie up with Othello but don't worry, we're done with journaling. Also, aside from vocabulary cards and a poetry response be prepared to really rock it on Wordmasters.
