Monday-You are required to take a pre-test to see if you are on track for the EOCT

Tuesday-The poster of your adopted word is due today.

Wed.-5 questions on ANGELA'S ASHES are due today for the Socratic Seminar.  Make sure that you have thoroughly answered 4 of them.We will conduct the Seminar in the same way that we did earlier in the semester.  The bar on the rubric, however, will be raised.  Be prepared.  Bring your book.

Vocabulary #13-due on Nov. 30th:

ADOPT A WORD

From my master vocabulary list, adopt a word that you like and will befriend.  Sign up; Everyone will have a different word. Make a poster (must be exactly ½ of a poster board) that promotes your word.  The poster must have your word (of course!), its definition, artwork of some kind (drawing, computer graphic), and either a sentence or a way to remember the definition.  Be clever, be creative, make it memorable (in a good way!).  We’ll use the posters to help us study for the vocabulary section of your semester exam.  This will be your vocabulary grade for week #13.  Due Tues., Nov 30^th.

Week of 11/8

All of you have a creative non-fiction essay due, but different classes have different due dates.  Make sure you know when yours is due.

This week we will work with the essay "The Meteorites" by Brian Doyle.  We'll read it, highlight it, discuss it, and finally, write about it.  I think you'll enjoy it!
