Wake Forest University - VIP Reception

A small reception is being held by Wake Forest University admission representatives for prospective students from diverse backgrounds on Sunday, September 25th. Interested seniors should see their school counselor to obtain a reservation.

Georgia Tech - Engineering Career Conference

The 12th Annual Engineering Career Conference is being held on Friday, October 7th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Georgia Tech.  High school counselors are able to nominate freshman, sophomore, junior and senior girls for the opportunity to explore engineering majors and careers.  See your school counselor to be nominated for the conference by September 9th.

Colored Rocks

The Colored Rocks Foundation is looking for a few good men of color to award a $3,500 prize.  Applicants will be judged on their written composition about the positive influence they have made on other young men of color.  Applications and information can be located at http://www.coloredrocks.org

 

 

Academy Day

Representatives from all five Military Academies will be present at North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega, Georgia on September 17th from 10:00 a.m. unti Noon. Students interested in the Air Force Academy, West Point, the Naval Academy, the Coast Guard Academy or the Merchant Marine Academy should register to attend the program at Annemarie.Ducote@mail.house.gov.

National Hispanic College Fairs, Inc

The National Hispanic College Fair is being held on Tuesday, October 4th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Meadowcreek High School in Norcross, GA. Over 50 colleges, universities and trade schools will have representatives to explain programs and opportunities.

Indiana Univesity - Wells Scholars Program

The Wells Scholarship provides full tuition, academic fees and a living expense stipend for 4 years at IU Bloomington.  Lassiter may nominate two outstanding students to apply for this prestigious scholarship.  Interested seniors should turn in a resume/student profile to their school counselor by September 9th to be considered for the nomination.

Davidson College Scholarships

Two scholarships are available to seniors: the Belk Scholarship and the Bryan Scholarship.  The Belk Scholarship is merit based covering room, board, tuition and fees - valued at $49,000. The Bryan Scholarship offers one male and one female scholarship vauled at $30,000.  To be Lassiter's nominee to apply for these scholarships, turn in a resume/student profile to your school counselor by September 9th.
