Fall Semester: Students may complete up to 2 optional assignments - movie analysis and/or memorization passage. Spring Semester: Students may complete up to 2 movies.
Optional Movie Analysis
Each analysis is worth 50 possible optional points.
1. Watch a movie from the list below.
2. Write a historical analysis of the film. It should include:
· a description of the historical setting, time period, subject, historical fiction or fact
· a one paragraph summary of the plot
· examples of how the film portrays authentic details of history
· examples of how the film inaccurately portrays history
3. The text of the paper should be at least 1½ pages typed (double spaced, 1" margins, #12 fonts, no bold print) and be submitted to www.turnitin.com (click for directions)
Few of these movies are completely historically accurate; however, all are able to give the viewer a better understanding of history. You are not required to view any of these movies. Many of them are violent and contain offensive language, or have other objectionable material. You should have your parents' approval before viewing any of these movies.
