January 23rd – January 27th:
This week we continued work on professions vocabulary and the present perfect tense. We played some games and did some written and reading practice with these both individually and in groups. We also learned a new song and continued watching our soap opera.
Classwork:
Monday: Students finished off the gap-fill sheet on professions and did some quick translation on the present perfect to start and then we learned a new song and sang it together (there is no video this week). In groups students then worked on a way to memorize irregular verbs in the present perfect.
Homework – Quiz on professions vocabulary on Friday.
Tuesday: Students tried to decipher a popular saying in Spanish in the present prefect tense and we talked about this together. We reviewed the irregular infinitives and what they changed to in the perfect tense on the board. We did the first side of a worksheet on the present perfect and then repeated and sang to memorize our verbs and what they changed to. We then completed a speaking activity using the perfect tense and walking around interviewing others in the class. Students then worked on the 2nd side of their worksheet.
Homework – Finish off the worksheet for tomorrow
Wednesday: Students completed a crossword to practice professions vocabulary. We corrected yesterday’s homework and did some reading practice in groups on professions. We then played a game of matamoscas to review professions vocabulary.
Homework – Complete the last page of the present perfect packet for Monday
Thursday: We corrected the homework and did some translation work using professions vocabulary with the present perfect tense. We did the other side of our reading from yesterday and then played an index card game with our vocabulary.
Friday: We took our quiz on professions vocabulary and watched the telenovela. Students answered questions in English while we watched.
