January 30th – February 3rd:
This week we learned a new song, sang along and watched the video. The next class project was introduced and we saw some examples of work from previous years. We reviewed the present perfect tense and played some games in preparation for our quiz on Friday. We continued with our soap opera as usual.
Classwork:
Monday: Students learned a new song, sang along and watched the video. I explained what our next group project would be and we watched a short Monty Python video to get ideas. We also watched an example of a project video from last year.
Homework – Quiz on present perfect tense on Friday.
Tuesday: Students had a substitute teacher today. They got into groups and began work on their skits. Work was handed in at the end of the period.
Wednesday: We talked about how students got on yesterday and then corrected the homework which was due on Monday. We did some reading to work out what our ideal profession would be and will go through the results of this together tomorrow. We then played a team game to practice the present perfect tense.
Homework – Skits are due on Monday February 13th
Thursday: We played a game of 2 truths and a lie to practice the present perfect , we went through the results of our careers test from yesterday and then students had a small amount of time to talk about their skits.
Friday: We took our quiz and watched the telenovela. Students answered questions in English while we watched.

All interview skits are due on Monday February 13th.
Assessments:
Class participation grades shall be earned each week. Students will NOT have a chance to make these up. If a student is off task (sleeping, texting, doing homework etc.) they will earn a maximum grade of 60% for that week.
A grade was given this week for completing the daily sponge activity. If students did not participate in this they earned a zero.
