October 19th – October 23rd:
Students will be working on more basic vocabulary verbs and working with the simple and regular future tenses. We will do some games and group activities to practice and reinforce our learning and we will begin our next topic of the family. Students will be talking about how they get along with their families, studying quotes on the role of family and discussing their own experiences and thoughts. We will continue with Extr@ and discuss family values in Hispanic and American society and how they differ and/or are similar

Classwork:
Monday: We finished defining our 2nd page of basic verbs and played a team game to review the future tense
Tuesday: In pairs and groups we will talk about the family and discuss some quotes relating to family life and the importance of looking after each other. We will touch on the differences between the Hispanic and American family and in pairs students made up their own quotes on the importance and role of the family unit
Wednesday: We practiced our 2nd page of basic verbs with a game to practice oral and listening skills. We began talking about the relationships we have with the members of our families
Thursday: We continued our conversation on families from yesterday and discussed the role of parents. We practiced changing verbs from the preterite to future tenses and we reviewed vocabulary for our quiz tomorrow
Friday: We took the quiz and then watched the next episode of Extr@. Students completed the worksheet on this program which was turned in at the end of class
Homework:
Study vocabulary every night! Listen to Spanish radio or watch Spanish television every night!
Students should be reviewing the second page of basic verb vocabulary
Assessments:
There will be a vocabulary quiz on the 2nd page of basic verbs on Friday October 23rd
Classwork on Friday was taken up for a grade
We will have a test on all so far in 2 weeks. More details will be available shortly
