Math 1 Final Review

We have almost completed the new material for the course.  Much of the last few weeks will be devoted to testing.  The state EOCT (End of Course Test) will be conducted May 13 and 14.

Math 1

Last week we talked about Cubic Functions as well as Odd and Even Functions.  Students continue to present homework problems in class.  I am very pleased with the quality of some of the presentations.  Students have exhibited a depth of understanding of some topics that is usually not seen in ninth grade.

On Thursday of this week the class will take a benchmark test in the media center.  This test will not impact grades negatively.  Friday we will have a quiz over the last two weeks.  Monday  4/27/09 we will review for the test we will take on Tuesday 4/28/09.

Math 1

Today we began Algebra in Context.  This will be the last unit of the year.  In addition to the algebra we will be stressing communication in class.  Students working in pairs will present homework problems to the entire class.  Each student will probably present about once a week.  The following rubric will be used to assign grades for presentations.  Download TASK PRESENTATION RUBRIC

Construct a formula sheet.  The contents of this formula sheet cannot exceed the content on the back inside cover of our book.  Today you can use the book but in the future you will need a formula sheet.  Your formula sheet can be a photocopy or something you produce by hand but you must personalize your own formula sheet.
