Wednesday to Friday - Students worked on research projects.  I reviewed MLA format.

Homework - Turn in the research paper on Monday.

 Wednesday - Students chose vocabulary for the exam. 

Thursday - I discussed the summer reading list.  Then we finished reading The House on Mango Street.

Friday - Students presented their novel projects. I showed pictures from Spain.  Then we listened to the song "A Boy Named Sue" and analyzed its poetic elements.

Homework - Our exam will be on Thursday at 10:05.

May 12-15, 2009

Tuesday - Students turned in their novel projects.  I explained the song and archetype projects.

Wednesday - Students presented their novel projects.  We listened to the song "A Boy Named Sue" and analyzed its poetic characteristics. 

Thursday - Students worked on their song projects.

Friday - Students studied vocabulary or took an exam.

Homework - The exam will be on Thursday at 8:25.

Monday - We went over the test over Forged by Fire.  Then we chose the vocabulary for the exam.

Wednesday - I explained how to type a paper in MLA format.  I also showed the class a sample paper.  Then students began their papers or worked on EOCT Review on the laptops.

Thursday - We continued to work on the research papers or reviewing for the EOCT.

Friday - We will work on the research paper and use www.USATestPrep.com to review for the EOCT.

Homework - Work on the research paper and review for the EOCT.

May 6-8, 2009

Wednesday - We reviewed for the EOCT and read the novel.

Homework - Read pp. 70-86.

Thursday - We reviewed again for the EOCT.  Then we read "The Earl of Tennessee" on p. 87.

Homework - Read p. 90-104 in House on Mango Street.

Friday - I will hand out the list of projects for The House on Mango Street. We'll work on the laptops to review for the EOCT.

Homework - Practice for the EOCT on www.USATestPrep.com.   The test begins on Monday.   Read pp. 105-121 and work on your projects.

May 6-8, 2009

Wednesday - Students went to Ms. Tynes' room and were to read or work on their book projects. 

Thursday - Students worked on the study guide.

Homework - Finish reading the novel, if not finished, and do the study guide.  The test will be on Friday.

Friday - Students will take the test over Forged by Fire. 

Homework - The projects are due on Wednesday.

Tuesday - I showed the TestNav presentation about taking the EOCT online.  Then students practiced for the EOCT on the website www.USATestPrep.com.

Homework - The research paper is due next Wednesday, May 13.
