9th - two opportunities: 1) essay on Romeo's dramatic foil--choose one and defend, refute others; 2) essay on who is responsible for Romeo's and Juliet's deaths--choose one and refute others.  Monday we grade.  Tuesday we start on Ominvore's Dilemma, so procure the book and read chapter one by Tuesday.  Chance for five daily one hundreds on EOCT practice test.  Remind me to tell you Monday.

10th - test on Monday on remainder of EXODUS.  The Power of One (provided) or The Poisonwood Bible for Tuesday.  We will also disuss your presuasive speeches on Tuesday.  Revisions due Monday (optional).

9th honors - finish filming; test on Friday; procure THE OMNIVORE'S DILEMMA (THE YOUNG READER'S VERSION).  The book will be available at Once and Again for nine dollars as of Tuesday or Wednesday.  Please read Chapter One for the following Monday.

9th - continue the performing and filming of romeo and juliet; LEARN YOUR LINES; READ THE PLAY; test will be next friday

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Grades in 2nd period 9th may have dropped a few points.  I had mistakenly set the weight to 100 instead of 1 on three daily grades.  To help make amends for this, I will drop the lowest daily grade.

Break and 1st week back

9 - Extra credit: Research paper on the ten "things" that changed white opinion of blacks that led to the jury decision in A TIME TO KILL.  Twelve paragraphs in all, documentation, works cited page.  Read THE TRAGEDY OF ROMEO AND JULIET over the break; it is in your textbook.  No Fear books can help.  So can Sparknotes.  We will start doing ROMEO AND JULIET when you get back.  It should take about three weeks.

10 - Book One for Tuesday.  Book Two for Monday.  Book Three for Friday.  Books Four and Five for the following Friday.

Film - Stick it to the Man continues.  Papers due on Friday, films on Monday.
