1st week back

film - finish serious comedy

10th - watch Sharpe's Waterloo, take essay test on Friday; possible opportunity on Thursday

9th - all grades except 3rd and 4th essays are in.  Many of you did not finish the book.  Only one of you made the necessary connection.  We might have a quiz on Monday.  We also need to go over how to write a paper.  When that is done, we will move on to 12 Angry Men.  You have no reading assignment over the break, but we will read To Kill a Mockingbird after 12 Angry Men.  You have time.  It is not illegal to read a book twice.  Teachers do it all the time.  That's how they see all the details.

2/14-2/18

9th - 33-35 for T, 36-38 for W, 39-41 for Th, 42-44 for Friday.  Opportunity on Thursday, test on Friday.

10th - charades on M, test on T, four chapters of Waterloo for W, revisions due Friday, book finished by Friday when we get back

FILM - serious comedy continues

9th - 28-32 for Monday, 33-34 for Tuesday, 35-37 for Wednesday, 38-39 for Thursday, 40-44 for Friday.  I reserve the right to give a quiz any day.  Essay test on Friday.  Typed essay question due Thursday.  Possible opportunity on Thursday.

10th - Charades Monday, test Tuesday 10-12, 1-12, revisions and first four chapters of Waterloo due Wednesday, chapters 5 and 6 for Thursday, chapters 7 and 8 for Friday.  Quizzes!!!!

2/7-2/11

film - finish boondocks on monday; paper on tuesday or film on Friday; next section?  I don't know.  We will discuss our options on Monday.  Paper topic: how do different techniques add to movies?  Discuss films we have seen and the techniques used.

9th - test on first 18 chapters on Monday; you may use notes.  Read approximately 25 pages a night.  Quizzes possible.  Notes definitely.

10th World lit - Papers on "going native" due Monday.  Opportunity on Shogun?  We'll see.  We will do vocab next week.  Procure Waterloo and begin reading.  Copies available at Once and Again.
