BVP IIIB & IVB Update

The LNN had a excellent show today.  The studio and control room staff were flawless.  The looked and sounded professional.  They produced/aired 3 entertaining and informative.  In a short period of time they produced a goodbye video of Mr. Scott whose last day at Lassiter is today.  They also did a timely video on the upcoming Super Bowl.  And they produced an excellent video on Lassiter's equestrian club.

BVP IIB Update

The Bees Knees and The show Fo Show have completed their 1st shows of the semester.  Overal pretty good, but I am still emphasizing quality audio.  They must use the proper type of microphone depending on who/what they are shooting.  Have to decide between camera mic, dynamic hand-held mic and a shotgun/boom mic.  But they did have informative and entertaining segments.

BVP IB Update

The Open-Ended/Continuity videos are edited and we have viewed them.  Overall, all groups did a good job.  We did have some jump cuts.  So we are doing another video project that each group must be absolutely certain that there no jump cuts in the video.  Once this video is shot and edited we will move on to the unit on Studio and Field Lighting.

BVP IIIB & IVB Update

LNN did their 1st live newscast of the semester today.  We aired 2 very well produced segments on Lassiter's art dept. and we showed highlights from the winter pep rally, which featured an awsome faculty basketball game.  They have produced a new open and new closing credits for their newscast.

Starting right back up with producing their individual shows.  Two new names for their shows:  The Bees Knees and The Show Fo Sho.  The Producers have assigned their teams to produce a new open and a new closing credits for their shows.  Other teams are working on segments for the 1st show of the semester.  Both shows are utilizing the chroma-key effect at some point in their shows.

BVP IB Update

These students are learning the importance of continuity.  Telling a story with smooth motion.  No jump cuts!  Their rubric includes mandatory interior and exterior shots and then decide how to end the story.  Their ending must storyboarded and approved.  They are in the process of editing this project.
