NovaNET: SENIORS

DEADLINE FOR ALL WORK is Friday, May 20 at Noon.  As per instructions from Mrs. Morse, Assistant Principal in charge of Curriculum, the absolute deadline for Senior work is Friday, May 20 at Noon.  Any Senior who has failed as of the noon deadline is not eligible to walk at graduation.

NovaNET: Week 17

Last week for Seniors who plan to walk at graduation! 

Remember:

• All papers, modules must be completed for credit recovery.
• If it's on your screen, you must complete the work.
• All papers are late at this time, but each must be completed for credit recovery.
• Please note that papers are graded in the order received, so allow ample time for grading.

General information for all students:

• Maintain the integrity of the NovaNET program by taking appropriate notes to use on tests.
• Cite sources correctly for researched information to avoid plagiarism.
• EOCT scores will be posted on Pinnacle as soon as I receive them.
• In the rare case where a course was added and an EOCT was required, I'll tell you your score, as you won't have a Pinnacle tab for the added class.  Paperwork must be completed by teacher to add credit for added classes.

Extra time:

• Lab opens at 7:45 a.m. until 8:15 for an extra half hour a day.
• Students are welcome to come in during lunch, other class periods with teacher permission (I cannot release you from another teachers' class).
• No time after school is planned.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

NovaNET: Week 16

EOCT WEEK!

• Don't forget the EOCT date change:  All NovaNET EOCTs will be administered Wed., May 11 during first and second period in the English Writing Lab
• Report directly to the test site so you can start on time.
• Your teachers for 1st and 2nd have already been notified of your absence
• You are responsible for work in those classes assigned or completed while you are taking the EOCT.
• All students have received packets of EOCT prep material and reminder/passes to the test site.
• EOCTs will be posted to Pinnacle as soon as they are released.


English papers:

• If it hasn't been turned in yet, it's late.
• All papers count as separate modules, require separate rubrics, and must be typed and completed by MLA format.
• If you don't have a book for any reason, you can use the copy during your class period in rm. 414.

Remember to maintain the integrity of your NovaNET work.  Do not do anything that would jeopardize your ability to earn credit recovery.  See Mrs. Armistead immediately with any concerns.  Do not lose your investment of time and effort you have made thus far this semester.

All Seniors must complete all modules to participate in graduation practice.  You must attend all practices to walk at graduation.

 

 

 

NovaNET: Week 15

EOCTs: 

• All NovaNET EOCTs are set to be administered on Monday and Tuesday, May 16 and 17 respectively during the regularly scheduled NovaNET class. 
• These exams will be administered in the Career Center in the back of the School Counseling office, so go to that location rather than rm. 414 in order to start the test on time.
• Any NovaNET student with a second EOCT in NovaNET will take the second EOCT on Wednesday and Thursday, May 18 and 19 respectively during the regularly scheduled NovaNET class period.
• Remember to prepare for your EOCT by studying your notes, using your Test folder, USA Test Prep, and the Dept. of Education website study guides.  See Mrs. Armistead for instructions on how to access any of these study aids if you have questions.
• As EOCT testing comes dangerously close to final exams, please make every effort to attend class daily AND especially on Monday, May 16 and Tuesday, May 17.  Our window for make-up tests is very narrow, and the course cannot be completed without that test score which counts 15%.

Extra time:

• I continue to open the lab daily at 7:45 a.m.  Students who avail themselves of this opportunity can work 2 1/2 extra hours a week. 
• Students are welcome to ask for a pass to come in during their lunch to work when a seat is available.  Due to attrition, space is usually available.
• As we have no ASE in May due to the testing schedules, these options are very important.

Attendance:

• Make no mistake:  students are required to be in NovaNET every day school is in session, EVEN if the student has finished all NovaNET course work.
• Failure to attend class without appropriate check out procedure will result in administrative action.

Feel free to email Mrs. Armistead with questions about progress on course, grades- mod average and/or completion percentage.  All modules for each course must be completed in order to recover credit.

Seniors:

• All modules must be completed for credit recovery in order to attend graduation practice. 
• You cannot attend graduation practice until you have recovered credit by completing all of your modules.
• If you do not complete all of your course work by the time graduation practice begins, you may still be able to graduate by completing all of your course work by the end of the exam period for underclassmen on the last day of school, but you would not be able to walk through graduation with your classmates.
